It is my son's birthday on Thursday. In my mind, he should be turning four, but as the island has it's own ideas, it looks like it will be his eighth unless things revert by then.

Well, I think I shall give him some sort of treat in Florida- what would anyone from the time suggest? He's never had a party before, and- he hasn't experienced much that this time has to offer, either.

And of course- anyone that would like to celebrate with us is welcome, especially if you have children.

Indeed, does he really? Ha! Smart kid...! Ha ha! I mean, all I really want to do is lie about and eat chocolate myself-- even IF there's other things I really should be doing - like, say, taking the money from your "Hemingway Impersonations" (HA!) and getting a nursery together for the island...! And of course, exercise, as well...

Yes, you know, I really could sell off genuine manuscripts, but I think they might be rather surprised to find that much of it wasn't typed on that typewriter they babble on about, but on a laptop computer, or scribbled in biro pen. They might question it's authenticity, hmm?

Shit- yes- a nursery? I suppose so. There can't be much time. I don't really know what that involves these days- do you want me to get anything in particular?

[ooc- OH SHIT they are going to be left without a baby but with all this BABY STUFF!]

Depends what a Biro pen is, exactly; I mean, if it would be more authentic, I do still have a quill and ink somewhere in mine -- old flat, I suppose, it is now...! Hope no one else has moved into it! Hah!

Anyway's, well... I could use some receiving blankets and a few gowns for the baby to keep warm in, of course, but not much else, just yet - not till we know whether it's a boy or girl, I mean to say! Because really, the clothes are always so dead cute for either gender, and I don't want to buy up anything wrong! Especially given how rare it is that there are babies on this island, in order to make use of the clothes, should I say, buy out a baby store of all their little boy clothes, and then end up with a little girl! I mean, there's something on the plaque on that door about it staying open for a good month, right? I'm sure I'll have given birth by then!

((Ooc: LOL! X-D <3 All the more reason to pressure poor Rhonda into giving birth to a real baby even SOONER, am I rite? X-D <3))

It's not something we had in my time. It's a rather wonderful invention, where the ink is already inside the length of the pen, and it flows out most wonderfully without a need for any ink-dipping or- I'll show you one, sometime.

All right, then I'll see what I find.

A crib, maybe? A pram?

Indeed? I think I've seen those, rather... Only I don't think it would be distinguishable from a regular ink-dipping pen...! I mean, I'm certain that Mrs Tonks - Ted's mum, a Muggle, you know? - well... Anyway's, I don't think she uses a quill to write in the journals we kept back home and yet -- her handwriting was indistinguishable from her son's as far as the strokes of the pen....

[...] Now why should I want a crib for the baby? I mean, having to get up with it, when I could just sleep next to it in the bed...! I swear to Merlin, I'm far too lazy to make any use of a bloody cot for any baby of mine...! Heh!
