I do so love the spring, although I wish I were back in Ithilien, to see it bloom without the darkness of Mordor to mar it. But I suppose I shall never see Ithilien again, or the White City sparkling in the sunrise.

I wonder if I shall ever feel at home here. It is so strange to me.

I know nothing of this place you speak of, and yet you paint such a vivid picture in my mind that you make me yearn to see it.

It is odd indeed. I still know not what to make of it.

Egypt is a long river valley surrounded by desert of one kind or another, and one of the areas where civlization first developed on Earth. The land is awash in ancient buildings and monuments, and to me is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen.

I often wonder if our lands are at all similar, but this leads me to think they are not. If it is as ancient as you say, I think I would have heard of it. Although there are many places I do not know, away east.

It is several thousand years old, so you would have heard at least something of it, even if the tales bore little resembalnce to reality.

I've come to the conclusion from what I've heard that your world and mine would have been quite similar as little as five centuries ago, with the exception of the magical creatures that exist in your own. There is no such thing as Dwarves, Elves or Orcs on the Earth I come from, save legends told to frighten or entertain children.

Perhaps so; I know little of your world, although I would enjoy hearing more.

A world only of men? How sad that would be.

I'd be happy to trade stories of our two worlds over a meal and a pint at the pub, your world sounds fascinating as well. As for a world only of men, it may not have diversity of intelligent species but that is more than made up in the range of cultures across the planet.

Yes, I would like that.

Perhaps lunch tomorrow then, if our schedules are agreeable.
