Dear Sirs,

Having arrived yesterday morning, I would like to ask whomsoever should read this to confirm these particulars.

- We are circling a faraway star.
- There is no way to leave this place of our own volition, but we will someday leave.
- There are people here who should be long dead, or not yet born.
- Most of the property and goods here are unclaimed, and so taking them is not theft.
- Hamilton is

Thank you for your assistance.

A. Burr

Oh. Not in my year, at least. Mr Washington is the president. Mr Burr is my father's lawyer friend.

There must be lots of people with that name. I just had to ask, just in case.

That's true. I don't think so. But he is a very nice man and my father likes him a lot, even if my mother says he sometimes has a 'funny way of showing it'. Not that I've ever found anything about it very amusing, I don't know why she thinks it is.

Do they keep arguing and then making friends again? That might be what that means. If it's that then it's funny because it's strange, not amusing. But boys make friends by teasing each other anyway, don't you? It is funny.

Yes, that's right, but my father is always arguing with his friends and they are still friends. Maybe you are right. I don't tease people, I don't like It is strange.

I don't like to have arguments, but maybe it means that people who do like them make friends with other people who like them, and that's why they argue with each other and don't mind it.

I asked my brother and he said that President Burr was president after President Washington but he doesn't know by how much later because he is not an expert on Appalachia.

I don't like to have arguments either, only if I really have to. Maybe, that makes sense. All of my dad's friends like to argue, I think, that's why they do politics or law. It's all arguing.

Oh wow! That is so exciting, that's very good for him!

I think if lawyers are arguing in court that's different. It's a different sort of argument, because it's their job. Politicians too. The M.P. for Calleva was a very friendly man when he used to visit, but I remember my father saying he could be fierce in Parliament, that's why he supported him. And Father is in Parliament as well of course.

Would you like to be President if you could?

Yes, that's true. My father is always reminding me, "it's not personal, it's politics". I didn't know your father was in politics, too.

I don't think so but don't tell my it seems very stressful, and there's so much pressure to do what's best and keep everyone safe and happy. Would you?

It isn't really my father's job. He is Lord of Brannenford so he has a seat in Parliament, but he isn't there all the time.

Do you mean if I were a boy? I don't think I would want to either. You are right, there would be lots of pressure and lots of arguments, and everyone counting on you to do the right thing, every time.

What is his real job?

Yes, or from the future. Exactly. My father was always stressed and Mr Washington is a nice man, but I think he is always stressed and tired. You never get to take a break when you're president, or even in cabinet really. Which is what you call parliament.

It's being lord of Brannenford? He always has lots to do there.

Is your cabinet like a parliament? They're different in Pretannica. Parliament is much bigger, and the Cabinet is just a small group who advise the Prime Minister I think. Nobody in Cabinet would have a break from their work, you're right. I couldn't do that at all. I have to rest a lot, because of my health.

Do you think there will really be lady Presidents in the future?

Oh, I didn't know that was a job. We don't have lords in New York.

I think our Cabinets might be the same thing. My dad father is in Cabinet because he is the Treasurer, and then people like the Defense Secretary, and the Secretary of State... heads of departments, I guess. And they advise the President. Maybe Congress is Parliament, then.

I'm sorry, I didn't know your health was that bad.

Probably! Ladies here are doctors, and have the same education, and they can speak at the meetings, so I think there might be.

Everywhere has lords. Maybe you just haven't heard of the lord of New York yet.

Yes I think that's it! Your father must be extremely busy. Is there a Shadow Cabinet too?

It's alright. I have a telekinetic illness so it is bad sometimes but not all the time.

I would like to ask if there are, but people always confuse me when they start to talk about the future.

I asked, but father says we do not have them in New York.

He is extremely busy, he is trying to start a bank. Or he was, back home. I get to spend a lot more time with him here than I ever did back home. I'm not sure about a shadow cabinet, what does that mean? A dark version of them?

Okay. I haven't heard of it before.

Do you want me to ask? Or we could find some history books written in the future and find out ourselves.
