Good morning.

Let me thank the gentlemen who assisted me on the day of my arrival for your kindness. I wish I could say that my mind is less troubled on this day than it was on that that one, but unfortunately, I cannot. I have spent my time since then with your history books.

They are wrong. Wrong in many particulars, from the great to the small. Pretannica is 'Britain' and Gaul is 'France' and the wars are protracted or shifted or simply not as they should be. The dates are wrong, all across the past millennium. Places are wrongly named, and many august personages either are not mentioned or are said to hold the wrong offices. On a more personal note, the great city of Calleva, near which my family has its estate, in your books appears to have disappeared when the Romans did.

Further, I cannot find a single mention of telekinetics.

The similarities, however, are numerous and uncanny enough that I cannot simply say that I must be reading about some other planet, even as I learn the nature of this place.

What would you make of this?

Another strange difference. We would not call it supernatural, because it has always been part of the nature of humanity that some people have these talents.

I technically have the ability, but mine is at the lowest grade and not worth speaking of.

In your country, were there no telekinetics until recently, or did they keep themselves secret, and out of the history books?

	I do not know. I thought my abilities had been granted to me by an infinity stone. But now I am not so sure. I was told it is my heritage. In all these worlds, people might have hid their abilities. What grades are there for your ability? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

What is an infinity stone? There is a great debate over whether the talent is inheritable or not, but it does not seem to be so in the straightforward sense.

Telekinetics are graded between 1 and 12, with 1 being the most powerful. I was registered as a T-12 when I was twelve years old. In truth, it is the middle grades which are the most useful, because with an exceptional talent the side-effects on the body are debilitationg. I have learnt that is not the case for others here.

An infinity stone is incredibly powerful. In my universe, they have been there since the beginning of time and control aspects. They have been destroyed now. But the damage they can is immense. I gained telepathic and telekinetic abilities from it and my brother incredible speed. But I was later told that these abilities always rested within me.

Side-effects? I have not felt any. What is it that you can do?

Is it possible that the infinity stone only activated an ability that you already possessed?

I can do very little. The only reason I know about what I am at all is because of the side-effects. They are worse in younger people. Itches and trembling and aches, for someone of my ability. Hallucinations and the inability to moderate one's senses for a T-1, among other things.

	Perhaps one in five hundred is on the registry, and one in ten thousand has a truly exceptional talent. A reasonable number, but a minority. Did your infinity stone give abilities to many others, as well as you and your brother? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

In Calleva, having a telekinetic in the family is an embarrassment, frankly. At least in my circles. At my level it is easy to live a normal life. Many others do use it as a means of advancement, because telekinetics in the middle grades are much in demand by the government and the military and for other useful purposes of that sort. The exceptionals at the high grades are pitied, and many end up in institutions because their abilities cannot be managed. Perhaps they are feared by some, but they are no danger.

That must have been very lonely.

	It took some time to get used to it. Then you must feel lucky to only have such weak abilities. I do not understand why a telekinetic would be seen as an embarrassment. Thank you. It has been. Yes, I am very fortunate, even if I do not always feel it and wish it had never happened at all. I was dismissed from school for it, and that did alter the course of my life. It is an embarrassment because it is out of the ordinary, I suppose, and the side effects can be unsightly and unpredictable. It can look to others as if you lack self-control.

Is there a registry here? Are there any requirements?

	It is almost a year now. I understand. When you have power like that a lack of control can lead to far reaching consequences. It is much more dire than the slip of a normal person. ~~I do not know if it is fai~~ There is not. But there is a class set up for people who study magic. Maybe you find it useful. Yes, that is correct, and at the time I was dismissed the headmaster could not have known that my talent was so paltry and would not cause trouble for anyone. Even then, the effects were more manageable at home. How was it for you? Did people fear you?

Magic? I understand that there are people here who say they have magic, but I do not think they are telekinetics. It is something very different, is it not?

Understandable. I am not sure if it is helpful but he's changed. He's helped us. I wouldn't have him under my roof he was still the man he used to be.

As for my powers... it has to do with animals. I can make them want to follow my requests, keep them under control, sway them. The big ones in Wheel 1 belong to me but they won't harm anyone because I told them too.
