So... I'm stuck. Six months of trying and I just can't get a hang of shapeshifting. At least not the way my Dad does it. Which sucks. Is there any other shapeshifter out there who can give me some tips?

Muuuuum, help?

	I can't do it myself, but the mages I know who can say that it takes very intense focus, and that you have to work on one shape to the exclusion of all else, and truly come to understand the creature before you can become it. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	Well, currently it isn't. That's the whole problem. But my Dad learned it at some point. He's a sorceress. So am I. I am just terrible at this part of it. Enchantment though. Pretty damn good. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

I'm not even on that list and that for a reason. "Katherine - less impressive than the other ones in her family but maybe she will catch up one day" that's the title of my future biopic. Spoiler alert: currently not great at this whole catching up thing.

So, be assured I'll be your groupie. You'll get signs. If you want pom pom, I'll give you pom poms. Okay, I might press them into my cousin's hands. She is way better at the girls stuff. Which just means you've got yourself two fans, Bruno.

Oh, I'm sure that isn't entirely true. Everyone has their gifts and talents, and I'm sure your family must be very proud of you trying so hard. I could find out for you, but then again, maybe I'll see that you're a miserable loser outcast with no friends in the future, and then you'll hate me. (I am joking of course. Mostly. You might not like the answers.)

	My grandfather was the shape changer and then my Dad made it his own. But he's using magic for it as well which he got from my grandmother. But grandma doesn't do any shape changing. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	My Dad does it through spells but my Mum can turn into a dragon through her ancestry and with her it's more at will. I've tried it Dad's way and I can't get it to work. I only know how to cast spells. How do you even do this at will thing? (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

	Maybe stick to your mother's advice then. I don't want to sound like you're not wanting it hard enough because I'm sure that isn't true, but for me if I want to change my form I decide that I want it changed and reality as we know it bends to my will. In a way. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	The way I do it, is I focus on how much of me I want to have feline. It takes a lot of focus to change, stop part way, and change back. But then I just have the one thing I can change to. (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I take one thing over none. I haven't really worked with the aspect thing yet. Dad was always focused on the magic and then you figure out what being that animal is like later. But maybe I need to start with that. Adrian mentioned something similar. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
