¡Hola!

If we haven't spoken yet, let me introduce myself. My name is Bruno Madrigal. I am from Colombia so English is my second language, but we will get by. My wardrobe is also very limited, it does not generally snow there unless my sister is having a moment so I am wondering where I would get some boots and a jacket?

Also, it seems that my friends pet rats have joined me. They have never been caged, so I do not think it wise to start now. I am sure they are disease-free and certainly friendly, so please refrain from stamping on them it would break my if you can, thank you.

I think that is all for now.

Adiós

Good evening Mr Madrigal. My name is Arcturus Black and I am from London. If it would be of use to you, I know where winter-weight robes can be found, as I spent quite some time searching for them recently. They might do until you find something more to your liking.

Can your rats do any tricks?

Hello Arcturus. Thank you so much for your help, but Maryanne has directed me to the stores.

Oh, yes! Plenty, they are very clever.

Do call me Black, won't you? All my friends do.

Some of the boys at my old school used to have pet rats. They are very clever, almost as clever as owls.

Sure. Black it is.

Oh, yes? Then you already know. I don't think I've met any owls, not up close anyway. Do they keep them as pets too?

Thank you.

Yes, I had a pet owl myself. His name is Betelgeuse. He delivered letters to my family. It is rather a pity he isn't here.

That sounds very useful. Perhaps he will show up one day.

If he does, I shall promise to keep him away from your rats! Do they have names?

Yes, of course! Fernando, Carlos, Rodrigo, Gabriela, Thalia, and Ernesto.

Those are splendid names! I hope to meet them someday.

I read that you are 120 years old. This place is awfully peculiar like that. If I followed their calendar, I should be turning 187 this year.

They are proving surprisingly popular.

Yes, just by the calendar dates. I am 50, but I was born in 1902. The world was a different place. You must understand well.

I think so, even if 1902 still seems like the distant future to me. I am probably of an age with your grandfather. Home is nothing at all like this station. It's strange, isn't it sir? I don't care for this place much.

Very strange indeed. I am fearful of so much of it, but the people seem friendly enough at least.
