they're not really celebrating anything in particular, they're just having fun. They all sort of like the same things and want to meet other people like them.

no, they're just wearing costumes.

in this sort of world people aren't really things like warriors or gods, but sometimes they like to dress as them and feel like they are for a little bit.

it is an honour to meet you knight. my mother has indeed a kind heart and meeting one of our gods is the greatest honour of all. lady frigga is the queen of gods.

i have not heard of your lord i am afraid nor have i lived through your age. you need to tell me about them.

i have been. i have been there for some time but the place is too strange. i do not understand those strange customs. i believe someone pretended to be thor and another a valkyrie. it made me angry. you should not mock the gods. i tried to talk to them but they would not listen and told me to calm down. they pretend to honour them even though they do not think they are real. and there was a big man who told me i had to leave because my weapon is sharp. why would you have a weapon that is not sharp other than for training. i have seen weak armour and weapons that would not cut a leaf. but when you tell them they look at you like you are crazy. no one in this place makes sense.

They're not wearing real armor, though. It's like Richie said, it's people pretending. They've heard stories of people who do wear proper armor, and they wish they were like those people, so they make pretend armor and pretend weapons and dress up. They don't know how to use the weapons, they aren't trained at all, so it's better that they have the pretend ones. Otherwise, they'd hurt themselves. They're like actors in a play, or really enthusiastic storytellers.

I have to go get a goat and a boar. Your mom told me to go get them.

ah so they are recreating stories of the great. i would like to hear them tell stories of the gods and warriors of your world.

and what are they for. is a feast being prepared. you also have come and spend time with your future wife.

i would never dare to ask the gods for theirs. it is not my place to ask. but once we have built our home i will invite people and trade stories. we need a big fire, mead and ale. it is the only way to tell stories well.

feasts are good. i will look forward to it.

she wants to enjoy herself and swim in the ocean. she also needs someone to convince these baffoons of guards that i should be allowed back into the building. they say they cannot allow anyone with weapons inside. someone has to show the actors what real weapons look like

Oh, I have an idea. We could ask Kat or Bill if they could put your weapons in their Pockets until we're all back on the station. The guards have to look after thousands of people and make sure they're safe, so they decided that it's easier to do that if nobody has any real weapons. And I don't think the actors will care what real weapons look like, as long as they have weapons that look like the ones in their stories. And then we could go to the beach and you can go swimming.

ah people can be rowdy. many people were slain over disagreements about their heroes and gods. but it is a good plan if they do not mind. i would not wish to bother them.
