Okay, station folk, tell me things. Anything. How are all my favourite people doing? How is Cuba? What's the soap opera drama doing? What have the science people blown up yet?

I'm going crazy ~~and it would be wonderful to talk to someone other than my family.~~ and I have exhausted all the conversations one can have with a wolf. They included a lot of howling.

PS any recommendations for ridiculous ways to paint someone's face are welcome.

Understandable, and it was really a flash in the pan kind of a thing. I hadn't spoken to Isabel since I went to Cuba, and she decided to surprise me. She sang to me, Kat. She sang to me. I'm not being metaphorical. Once the shock had worn off, I told her about meeting Abi. She had some strange idea about ending up like... you know, Maryanne's deal, like we could somehow be some happy threesome. I didn't agree, and she was... really fucking depressingly sad about it all.

Yeah. I never did cheat on Abi, you know. I've behaved more than regrettably in the past, but you know I can't change what's already been done. I can try to learn from it and be better is all. Do you really believe people are entirely incapable of change?

Okay, so it's not entirely unusual in your family either. Maybe that does change things.

I know. I probably should at least tell her that her mystery man is actually a station resident. It's got to be weirder the longer I leave it, right?

Oh Ernest, this is getting far too serious. It was just a friendly warning. But yes, I do believe people can change. I also believe that people can make horrendous mistakes.

I just want them to wake up. I don't want to understand it. I just want it gone.

Yes. It will only be a bigger betrayal.

I know. It's just exactly the kind of thing that has me convincing myself that I should just leave her the hell alone. Too late for that now, I guess.

I know. I'm sorry. Have you talked to the others? Maybe there was a common factor that triggered their waking up.
