So which unlucky bastard is a vampire?

One rule: don't drink blood, okay? Good.

[Private to pub employees and HH occupants]

Christmas dinner, shall we throw a big feast at the pub? It might be nice for the people who do not have families here.

Don't underestimate this. I've made that mistake so many times. Warn everyone. It helps. If they know what's going on, they can spot changes in you. For the next couple of days, do not trust yourself. The blood can make you do things you never thought you were capable of.

Okay, I will.

How do you live with it? Having killed all those people? Are you ever afraid of doing it again?

I am. Everyday, I am. But I have a family to provide for now. They need me and that helps a lot. But I will never ever forget what I did. It won't go away.

Well spoken.

But I deserve it. I hurt a lot of people. I wish there would be some way to make up for it but there isn't. I can only be a better man now.

Do you think of yourself as different? As not human?

Jesus, you are full of questions.

I guess I do and I don't. I am not the man I used to be when I was alive. But being human occasionally has taught me that my soul does not change. I love my wife and daughters, no matter what I am. That's what makes me human.

I guess I lack a lot of answers.

But other species love as well. They aren't human.

For me humanity is not a species, it's a state of mind.

Aren't there any differences for you? Do you think animals can be just as human as humans are?

Of course, there are. A bird is hardly a pig.

I don't think that animals can be just as human as humans are but they can show signs of humanity. The way they care for their pack or their young. That's what humanity represents for me. Caring about something other than you.

Do you think this caring should be extended to other species? Humanity locks them up and kills them. Is that human?

Hey look, it's already hard enough for me to not kill any humans, I am not going to turn into a vegetarian.

But do you think you should be? That caring about animals is part of humanity? Or is it where humanity stops? Should you only care about your own species?

Jesus, girl, I don't know. I don't think they feel as much as we do.

What about people with mental disabilities? Someone with down syndrome for example? Should we care more about that person than a chimp?

Cut me some slack, Katherine. Caring about humanity is enough for me to worry about. I don't need that hi

Of course. I can very much see that now. Thank you. I don't know the answer to these questions either. I am just dazzled how clear everyone else's opinion is on these things.

The same goes for you. Keep your head clear. Don't let it sway or corrupt you.
