You're asking me about the power source? Uh, yeah. No. If you want to know how to invade a government compound, or take out an entire army with one bullet and some string, I'm your gal. But the electricity stuff? Definitely your deal. Not mine. All I know is that there's a little thingy that goes into the other little thingy and bam! The PDA works.

That would be because I am most definitely not in my hundreds.

[she sighs]

Okay. Long story short, mom decided that having me about the time she was supposed to have me was not the best idea. So she did her science stuff and put me on hold for a while. Cut a hundred years or so into the future, and here I am.

[a pause]

Give or take a few years. It's late, so my math is probably off a bit. The point is, Helen Magnus is very much my mother and you are currently in the twenty-first century.

[another pause; when she speaks again, it's obvious she's grinning slightly]

Now. Do me a small favor and go to the window. Pull back the curtain and look out, across the yard. You'll know what you are looking for when you see it.

And very much still a Magnus. Odd. I would have thought John would have snapped her up by now. Particularly if there's a century in there that we somehow survived.

[ pauses ] All...right?

[ there's the sound of the bed shifting as Nikola stands up and heads over to the window; there's a gasp of surprise as he pulled the curtains back ] That's... I had only just begun to formulate the plans.

I like it. I'm not really a munchkin 'cause they're funny colored and live in Oz but I still like it.

OK! When you come in to read me a story I can show you. I gots my notes right here! [a pause] Well, I gots what I was working on right 'fore bed here. The rest're in... [she pauses, thinking] the living room, kitchen, the study with the biggest fireplace, the hallway, and your lab. I might've started in the kitchen then gone to the living room but I think it was the other way 'round, this time.

[she yawns then giggles]

And Oz is a place in a movie, silly! The one with the wicked witch and Dorothy and stuff. There's munchkins that live there too. They're funny.
