EVENT #02 - BEGIN.
"...more like large packed into tiny cages than humanoids in a suitable habitat," The Collector mused to himself as he surveyed his collection.
The dorm-like apartments he'd provided them with were beginning to fill as he found more and more suitable specimens and he found that even though they were given a bed, washroom, clothing, and entertainment, they didn't seem to like their dwellings. Perhaps he'd underestimated what they would need.
He also seemed to notice how the residents, aside from those who attempted escape, tended to stick close to the apartments. At first he blamed it on them, assuming they lacked a proper sense of adventure, but then he began to realize that didn't venture out as far due to a lack of means of doing so! In his rush to complete the habitat he'd set up for his prized collection, he'd neglected to give them transportation.
"A bit of everything," he said to himself, "and perhaps a little something of their own."
Luckily for the residents of Colligo, these were problems he could easily remedy.

! MOD NOTE
As you have likely noticed, the Collector decided to make a few key changes to Colligo late last night. In order to avoid any confusion and to give you all a place to post any questions, we're going to cover what those changes were here.
• All of the rooms, where they were once 'dorm style', are now two bedroom apartments. Just to be clear, they are not massive two bedroom apartments, but they are decently sized and include: two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, a small kitchen/dining area, and a living room. All apartments also come with small, covered, outdoor patios. This means that your character went to sleep in a bed with (in some cases) someone else asleep in the bed beside them, and woke up in their own bedroom, with their roommate in another bedroom. No one was aware of the changes and for those characters that can't/don't sleep, they were compelled to be elsewhere at the time that the changes occurred.
• There is now an elaborate mass transit system which runs through all of Colligo. There is an underground subway, a monorail, as well as various buses. None of these things were present before, obviously, but now exist and run as though they've been running all along. Your character will also find information on their PDA as to where to pick up their multipass which allows them to freely utilize the transit system. The NPC!townsfolk will also be using these systems. As always, they will stay vague in their replies if questioned. Remember: At no time is the name/identity of the Collector revealed.
• Car lots appeared overnight, complete with fully stocked inventory as well as NPC car salespeople. There are various types of cars, both new and used, but none are newer than 2009 as that is the current date in-game. The only exception to that ties directly into the next change in Colligo. In addition, "gas" stations also appeared. Again, they are fully stocked and currently being operated by NPC townfolk. (Note: While they will say "gas" stations, the vehicles are not actually run on gasoline but rather a synthetic that is specially designed not to poison the atmosphere of Colligo.)
• For those characters that ICly own a vehicle in their own canon, their vehicle is now in the city of Colligo. They will find a message on their PDA which gives them the location of a garage, as well as a lot number, where their vehicle can be found. They will also find a set of car keys on their bedside table matching their vehicle. Keep in mind this is their personal vehicle from canon and there will be no upgrades or style/color/make/model changes from what they have in canon. The only exception to this is a small converter, if applicable, that enables the vehicle to run on the synthetic provided rather than gasoline. And obviously if your character is from a point beyond 2009, their personal vehicle will also be from that point.
There are also a few guidelines in regards to owning a vehicle!
~ These cars can be purchased, but just like in the real world, your character has to first have enough money or make a high enough income to afford one. Otherwise, they can use the transit system that is provided, free of charge.
~ While there is no current license required to drive in Colligo, obviously small children will neither be able to purchase a car nor drive one. Also any character that does not feasibly know how to drive in their own canon (example: someone from a world where cars don't exist) will first need to learn how to drive, meaning a proper amount of time would need to pass in-game for them to have learned, before being able to purchase a car.
~ It must be IC for your character to own a car. Dean Winchester, for example, owns an Impala. It would be nearly OOC for him not to have his car. Draco Malfoy, however, would not own a car. It would be OOC for him to have one in his own canon as cars simply aren't used. So yes. Stay true to the nature of your character in this regard.
If you feel you have a justifiable argument about your character being able to own a vehicle without canon proof that they do, by all means contact us! We're always willing to listen and may very well grant an exception if we feel the cases warrants such a thing.
