Ugh, school. I don't even know why I'm still here beyond the fact that they'll snap my wand if I don't finish. But only back less than a week and I'm already counting down the days until winter break.

Though being back also means that there's more chances to cause a bit of trouble. So if you want a little fun and havoc today, come and find me.

For those of you who do not yet know me, I am Esperanza Cantor Mendoza, new assistant to your Charms professor. Being at Hogwarts is muy extraño para mi. My village has nearly as many people as are housed in this single castle. I will have to grow more used to being here before I am able to do much outside of observation and assisting in grading, yo creo. Where I am from, my family has always taught us at home and kept us close, so this is all very new. I do hope though that we can all begin to know each other and I can learn your American customs and interests so that I will be able to assist you in your education.

It feels good to be back at school. It probably sounds a bit nerdy but I actually missed this place. Phobos and Deimos are glad to be back as well. They definitely prefer flying out and about out here in the open air rather than through the city. Plus they were starting to drive poor dad crazy.

Did everyone else have a good summer? Do anything interesting?
