Summary: Ernie takes Terry for a date... night on the town... Oh, it's two friends going out... maybe.
Ernie looked at himself in a mirror and smoothed down the jacket of the tuxedo he was wearing. He'd hesitated for a long time before choosing the Muggle attire. The few times he'd been there previously he'd noticed that a tuxedo looked very elegant at the club and even though the Muggle members were told about the wizarding world, they did still look at those wearing robes a little strangely. He really wanted to blend in tonight instead of be stared at.
He straightened his tie again and then drew in a deep breath. He could do this... he really could. He grabbed his cloak and threw it around his shoulders, made sure he had his wand then headed for the door. As he walked through the village and towards the school, he found his anticipation for the evening growing. He was sure he and Terry were going to have fun tonight.
It was only as he walked up the path towards the castle that it suddenly occurred to him that it was entirely possible he'd asked Terry out on a date. He came to a sudden halt and blinked, looking remarkably like a startled rabbit as he reviewed the owls he'd written.
Oh.
Had he asked Terry out on a date? He was taking him out to an expensive club and planning on buying him dinner. That sounded like a date. He suddenly blushed. Did Terry think he'd asked him out on a date? Did he care if Terry thought he'd been asked out on a date?
He and Terry were good friends and he'd always liked Terry. He blinked again and his blush deepened. But did he like Terry or did he like Terry? Was he really descending back into being a teenager again?
He abruptly sighed and ran a hand down his face. He had absolutely no idea. Maybe he shouldn't read too much into this. Yes, that would be for the best. They'd go out and... what happened, happened.
He drew in a deep breath and started walking up to the castle again, trying to ignore the nerves his little revelation had caused. Once he stepped into the Entrance Hall, a house elf appaeared and he asked the creature to guide him to Terry's rooms. All too soon, he was standing in front of Terry's door and he knocked on it.
