What: A friendly visit avec cupcakes.
Where: 1004
When: Backdated to a couple days after this (and after this.)
Warnings: None.
For the first time in a while, Hannah actually wished she had someone to talk to. Making new friends hadn't been on the top of her priority list when she'd moved in to the building, but once she'd found out that Emery lived just two floors below her she was, admittedly, glad that she'd have someone to talk to; someone she was already close to so they didn't have to go through those awkward first steps of friendship.
But as of now she really had no one to talk to, and despite her distrust of nearly everyone, she wished she'd tried a little harder to meet people. Calling her psychiatrist was an option, but in the end she decided against it.
Clad in a black hoodie and sweatpants, Hannah balanced herself carefully on the counter-top, trying to grab the last can of soup from the top cabinet. She really needed to do some grocery shopping, but that could wait until tomorrow. Right now soup and tea was just fine, and she was pretty sure there was a loaf of bread in the freezer.
"Microwavable chicken soup," she sighed to herself, opening the can and dumping the contents in a bowl. "Oh, I'm such a healthy person." Gabriel wove around her legs, trying to get a whiff of what she was making.
"Hey, you." She started the microwave and leaned down to pat his head, laughing. "This stuff isn't the best for people, silly; it'll be terrible for dogs like you."
She sat on the couch to eat, Gabriel on her lap and doing his best to sneak a lick of soup here and there. It didn't taste fantastic but it was food, and it would have to do until she went and bought some actual food. Or learned how to cook a little better - either one.
The last thing Hannah was expecting was a knock at the door, and for a moment she froze. Slowly, she slipped off the couch and crept towards the door, peering through the eyehole in apprehension - but it was only Daisy, the girl she'd helped move in a few weeks ago.
She only hesitated a moment before unlocking the door and pulling it open. "Hi. This is-- I mean, thanks for the Valentine. I'm glad you got moved in all right."
