For a moment she hesitated, tempted to just admit everything - but she couldn't do that to Emery. She owed it to him to keep his secrets, whatever they might be, and Hannah knew he would do the same for her. "He lives a few blocks away from here - you wouldn't know him." She felt slightly guilty for lying, but despite the cut on her shoulder she wouldn't betray him.
"A few years... we didn't see each other very much for a while, though. We still talked, it just-- it was kind of complicated." She hadn't wanted him to see her while she was institutionalized, but they'd written to each other during those years. "Enough time passed that something could have happened without me knowing."
