[After catching up on the building dramatics via the forums]

It does not concern me, what anyone thinks they are or who they believe they turn into when moon mother is full and heavy in the sky. I have a spear and many knives, and I do not mind using them if anyone turns their anger on me. There is talk of powers also, yes? I can open all of your doors if I wish it. I recommend staying away from mine.

I much prefer bluntness to false, friendly introductions. I do not want to sleep with your women, and I do not want to steal your things. Your politics and dramas, they do not concern me. If I play my music too loudly, I recommend the purchase of ear plugs.

... What language is that? I cannot argue with that logic.

What, may I ask, is your name? Very few newcomers are so unaffected by the nature of this building.

Miksa Silas, though that name will mean nothing to one who lives so high.

Considering the fact that you are a stranger, it is doubtful that it would mean anything regardless of how high I live.

My name is Vlad Drăgoi, and I would be surprised if it meant anything more to you than a name to match to a room number. If we were in Romania it would be different, as it would be if you were involved in the business world

It is a strong name. Names mean things, if given properly, and they tell you things about their owners.

Precisely why my father chose it I suppose they can, if chosen with thought rather than at random.

Your name is unique. I cannot say I have ever met anyone with a name quite like it.

It is Aleutian, and it was chosen for me by the tribe because I walk the line between worlds. What does your Vlad mean, and was it chosen for a reason also?

It is short for Vladislav, and it means to rule with glory. My father chose it as an expectation for me to live up to, I believe.

Is this the expectation you have for yourself also?

That is a rather What does it matter if Everyone has expectations for themselves, some sort of goal to meet - without ambition, there would be no progress.

Ambition and expectations, they are not the same thing, Vladislav.

Why is it that people choose to use my full name whenever I make the mistake of giving it to them? I use Vlad for a reason No, but ambition is necessary in order to meet expectations.

If your ambition is to meet expectations, yes, but you could meet expectations without need ambition to propel you. You could just be and have this be enough, have this be the expectation.

I believe I may find it difficult to simply be and nothing more. What do you strive for, what motivates you to do anything if your only expectation is just to be?

Motivation and ambition are nothing alike. Motivation is a necessity; ambition is not. Ambition, you will concede, is personal. Motivation can be anything at all that empowers you, makes you act, moves you; a thousand things outside you.

Lack of ambition makes you weak I sound like him I suppose the fact that I have spent most of my life motivated by my ambition may lend a slight bias to my opinion. What, if I may ask, is your motivation?

Ah, so you prefer to live in the moment. An admirable way to live, I admit, although I am doubtful that I could manage it.

Wake up in the morning and do what you want in that moment. If you can manage that, you can manage it as a life.

If only Perhaps I should try it, although a moment and a life are quite different.
