There is a certain Captain who is having his 100th birthday in four days! This is deserving of a celebration with fireworks, barbecue, cornhole, the works! I realize that this is pretty last minute, and I even questioned if I could pull something together this close to the event. Turns out that yes. Yes I can! So



Join us at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty where we will celebrate the birthday of our country and Steve Rogers! There will be grilled foods of all kinds, barbecue, beverages for all tastes, ice cream and pastries. Games will include a cornhole contest, something called putt-putt baseball and volley ball.

Everything will begin at 3pm, with ferries starting to run at 2:30pm. Stay around until 10pm when a fireworks display will top everything off!

No RSVP required. Just show up.

That sounds like fun and a good way to celebrate all things Cap. But I seriously can't stop laughing every time I read the word cornhole.

"Happy birthday, walking talking symbol of our great nation! Have some cornhole."

I'm going to pay for posting this by getting you a last minute reservation at a place that's impossible for anyone else to get into.
Aren't I.

You have my gratitude. My mother is recently returned to us and I wished to show her the festivities. Nearest the statue that a dear friend and my brother climbed after their initial arrival, and where I first took notice of Darcy's cake thieving ways. I shall leave a note on the refrigerator for Thor and Lady Sif, so they might attend if they wish to.

Is there a dress code that must be observed?
