Just an update on "Mission learn about Terran culture"

  • Swayze is still better than the Bachelor. Sorry Darcy, I tried.
  • I have met Earth's greatest hero, and his name is Skywalker.
  • Modern art makes me feel like stabbing something with my sword. Next time I get the bright idea to go to a museum, we can visit the Collector.
  • Crepes are the best invention on this planet. Change my mind.
  • Sam, you were right about communicating. But I was not prepared for how difficult it is.

Star-Lord

So you distracted me yesterday, and I never asked. Are you going to tell me about this job you're working on with Stakar?

Nebula

Do you know what exactly sisters are supposed to do? Like do we talk about feelings? All we've ever done is fight and hate dear old Dad. So I guess we actually did a lot of talking about feelings.

Dr. Palmer

How much do you know about alien physiology? I need some medical advice and feel like it might not be in my best interests to steal the spaceship to see an intergalactic physician.

Stop with that face... I see you trying to distract me again.

There's a guy who needs specialized equipment from off planet. Stakar knows a guy who can get it, Oberfonteri has a new chief engineer he's pretty sure can install it.

I can't control the fact that you find me irresistible.

But do we get to leave this solar system to pick it up?

Just because I choose not to resist you, doesn't mean I'm incapable of it. Are you going to bring your face downstairs, this bed is also quite comfortable.

A very thin carbohydrate wrapped around chocolate deliciousness.

We can go for food sometime if you want.

Plus it came with a side of people yelling at each other in foreign languages. It was the most intergalactic experience I’ve had on this planet

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, the definition of 'sister' is:

sis·ter | \ ˈsi-stər \ noun

1: a female who has one or both parents in common with another
2: often capitalized
a: a member of a women's religious order (as of nuns or deaconesses)
especially : one of a Roman Catholic congregation under simple vows
b: a girl or woman who is a member of a Christian church
3. a: a girl or woman regarded as a comrade
b: a girl or woman who shares with another a common national or racial origin
especially : a black girl or woman
4: one that is closely similar to or associated with another
sister cities
5chiefly British : NURSE
6. a: GIRL, WOMAN
b: PERSON —usually used in the phrase weak sister
7: a member of a sorority

Then I did a search for what sisters do, and one woman, who lost her sister nine years ago, wrote the following list:

18 Things All Sisters Should Do Together Before They Turn 18

Sisters have a special brand of magic. Here are 18 things to do with your sister before you turn 18 to honor that sister magic. And if you’re an adult with a sister and you haven’t checked off all these awesome sister-bonding activities quite yet, I promise you it’s not too late.

1. Stay up late in bed together, whispering made up stories to each other.
2. Try out new hairstyles on each other. (As long as no scissors are involved.)
3. Sneak the younger one into a movie she’s technically too young for.
4. Have a knock-down-drag-out fight over something stupid. Then apologize to each other, without anyone forcing you to.
5. Admit your deepest, darkest fears to each other – whether she’s afraid her nose is too big for her face or you’re afraid you’ll never understand chemistry.
6. Borrow each other’s clothes or jewelry.
7. Do a 1000-piece puzzle together.
8. Share inside jokes that no one else understands.
9. Bake something together and get batter everywhere, even the ceiling.
10. Hear a new song on the radio, fall in love with it, and go on an all-day binge listening to all that artist’s music.
11. Play a prank on your parents.
12. Teach the younger one what to do if someone touches your body in a way you don’t like.
13. Give yourselves matching pedicures.
14. Spend all day in your jammies watching your favorite movies.
15. Ride a scary roller coaster together.
16. Read out loud to each other.
17. Go to each other’s sports games, concerts, and plays.
18. When she’s fighting with her friends, listen and take her side – because she’ll return the favor one day.

The dictionary is incomplete.

Also, this list only proves that our childhoods were the worst. I think we have completed 4, 8 and 11. If betraying him and leading him to his disintegration counts as a prank. I think it does.

Oh, and 12. Definitely have that one down. What to do when someone touches your body in a way you do like might have been the better information in our cases.

Agreed.

And we have completed 4 and 8 multiple times. I don't know if betraying Father would technically be considered a prank, but I will accept your definition.

Being taught 12 would have been helpful, yes.

I don't think 17 is possible. Or 2, for me.

Sooo the quick answer is I know very little about alien physiology.

The even faster answer is I love learning and am happy to talk to you about anything. I can also always consult with Stephen for anything if I need to but just know that that would be done in the strictest of confidences, and he wouldn't learn anything personal.

How can I help you?

I need to figure out if Terran birth control will be effective on my physiology or if I need another option.

Because I know that Celestials are compatible to parent offspring with any species and my life is not compatible with growing a tiny Peter Quill in my body right now. One is all I can handle at the moment.

Ahhh ... well. I mean ... huh.

Okay. Incoming medical conversation.

As long as you have the same parts as humans do, and your gestation/sexual organs are relatively the same, there's some things we could use since they're really more about preventing implantation and killing sperm.

That being said, I don't know much about Celestials, and well, in the immortal words of Jeff Goldblum, "Life uh...finds a way".

Also note that nothing is 100% effective even for humans ...although. Hmm.... Okay. There's things that are effective for MALE earthlings that are totally reversible...that might actually be easiest... if he's willing to have a little snip and tuck...
