[Private to Val, Loki and Sif]

How go the arrangements for the move? I am almost done culling my things.

Our people, I see, are busy with their own packing; however, I know most of them are eager (if not all) to be in their new homes. Are we able to start accommodating that now?

Ah, yes. I've quite the news to share.

Along with dismantling anything non-essential, I've pathed over a few times whilst carrying belongings in my pocket space. Myself, Korg, Miek, and some of the builders and smiths have been working diligently. There are only a couple of joined houses left in disrepair. They should be finished by this week's end.

The government has been helpful with donations of non-perishable foods and Midgardian clothing. They have supplied some small fishing vessels, along with free cable and wifi. In return, they only ask for Thor to bless Norway at some event where 'an excess of mead will be provided' and to cut a few ribbons at opening ceremonies.

If this meets your approval? The largest residence is set aside for you and Jane. There is some property involved, so there will be room for her labs and experiments.

Nearest to you is a home that should accommodate Sif and her personal armory quite comfortably, and she will be close by should any trouble arise and either of you are in need of aid.

The Valkyrie and I will reside across the village. This way, we can not yell out our windows at one another, nor lob things out windows when we are having a disagreement.

Strategically, this made the most sense. In this way, we might monitor any threats incoming from the South, while you and Sif have the North. There is ample view to the East and West, over land and sea.

Ah, well who am I to turn down the chance to repay our hosts? I will gladly bless whatever it is they wish....within reason.

Sif reminded Jane of my status as a fertility god recently (thank you for that, by the way) and I do not wish to indulge in a risqué ceremony.

And speaking of Jane, she will not be with the first settlers. Due to her health and ongoing medical care, it is more prudent to have her remain here for the time being. It gives me time to build her observatory though.

I am pleased to see how thorough you are, brother. Your eye for details continues to astound me.

I mentioned it in passing while we talked of women's things. I'm sorry if I overstepped.

I am merely teasing, dear friend. Jane's story of your conversation amused me, as I have also reminded her of the same fact on occasion.

As has Loki, I believe. It is not a hidden fact.

I thin you will find that the time here on Midgard has loosened our tongues and allowed us the opportunity to be less formal.

So please, no apologies.

I have tried to reassure her that I support her but I don't think she understands me, or I her.

And I know we have mistaken each other about your involvement with the Avengers. I don't want to take your place, merely to make sure Asgard does its duty and that you as king are free to do what is needed without whatever meetings are required.

These things take time. Jane is aware how important you are to me and vice versa.

Mistaken? I thought we had agreed you can represent Asgard if for some reason I cannot. Is that not why you are assisting Nick Fury with his mission?

I admit, I am confused.

I am also confused, because that is what I thought we agreed on as well. I expect there to be quite a bit of minor duty, and someone has to stand in place of Heimdall for this realm, to watch--this is what I expect the Avengers to do. My conversation with Jane left me with the impression that I am somewhat mistaken about something to do with the Avengers. The scope of their duties, or the requirement of time, or something.

In any case, it seems as though you and I understand each other's intentions and agree on what is to be done, which is the important thing. The amount of time the Avengers will take to form and allot duties will unfold in the future we have not yet seen. You and I shall see what is needed and act according to that need.

All is well then. Worry not.

Are you looking forward to our move? You will have your own lodgings, space to do whatever you wish.

You also are welcome to stay in New York. I command the bifrost and can transport you around.

I have expected to spend some of my time in New York to work with the Avengers, but I would prefer to be in New Asgard when I can. Much will depend on the plans for the Avengers and I am not yet clear on those.

Certainly the Bifrost will make travel much easier.

Of course they would not ask for such debauchery. They're a modern Midgardian society, you pervert.

That said, Sif isn't wrong. Was Jane not aware that you hold more than one title? This is another reason why I thought it best the both of you should have the largest house. There is a small building on the slope that seems sheltered enough that the few lights of the village will not obstruct her view. I do hope she'll be happy with it.

As for her illness, this makes sense as she needs constant care. Since Jane's care is primarily Midgardian, she would need be seen by her world's healers. Eir and the healers will be taking time to arrange their healing house as they see fit.

Yes, well I spent hundreds upon hundreds of years trying to do everything for father's approval, but it means much that you acknowledge ---

Thank you, brother. You can start bringing people over on Sunday morn. I've used the lists to assign housing based on family size and any personal needs.

It's important to state one's boundaries.

Jane was aware. I have never shied from stating my many titles, duties and abilities. And what? There is only the two of us, we do not need much space. Perhaps you will need more bedrooms soon. You seem to be doing quiet well with the village children so far...

And good news regarding Eir. Have we determined the educational plan yet? We must ensure our history, our teachings, and such do not vanish. As well, we need to blend in Midgardian education as well. I will not have our people feel isolated.

Much appreciated, Loki. I will endeavour to do so.

I'll make sure to note that to them.

I assumed you'd want some space for any handmaidens, house servants, or a cook. And your many, many children in the future. All hail to you, God of Fertility.

We've no educational plans as of yet. Eir will have her eye on training any of the young ladies who seem to have an affinity for healing. Our Valkyrie has mentioned training regimes so we are able to defend ourselves.

As to our history and educating the children, that will likely fall unto me to do. I doubt any of the children have an affinity for magic I remember what you were like and that didn't include the ability to stay still, nor be content with reading books for longer than one hour.

Thank you, since you are now the God of the Bifrost as well.

God's, I've wanted to bring that up for ages, especially after the fateful 6 rainbow day... but I never got the chance.

I believe the midgardians would be calling Sif 'Iconic' by now.

I'll go on record that it is a very very good thing only one of us can control the weather. This is where we'd clink drinks if we were sitting next to each other.

Loki, do you know a way to repel geese that will not harm them, by spell or charm?

[info]the_trickster

Unfortunately, no. I'm terribly sorry, Sif. I was working on a magical dust to sprinkle on my foes to turn them to frogs, but mother took it away and I was left having to cast the spells myself.

Since I'm the last Seidmadr of Asgard. I could accompany you but that might take me away from the task at hand.

Dear Sif, are you wary of Midgardian geese? Surely they're not as bad as the geese on Vanaheim. Those rabid fowl were aggressive in the extreme.

Apparently these are sacred geese to the people of Canada, so they may not be harmed. I needs must do without then. But I thank you for your assistance, Loki.

Ah, I see. It wouldn't bode well to harm sacred animals, I suppose.

I wish you all the best with the endeavor. It already sounds as though it will be a difficult quest if angry birds are present.

And thank you for setting aside a house for me. I appreciate your efforts and your knowledge of what is needful.

Also I think our animals will be thankful to be a bit further away. Strider prefers the quiet and Dain is going to appreciate being further from the children.

If Inga tries to ride him again I think I might actually be able to get him to successfully 'play dead' to get out of it.
