If you're a Doctor Who fan on IJ, come check out dwicontest -- an icon challenge community dedicated to the new (2005) BBC series of the tv show Doctor Who. Challenges feature characters, episodes, scenes and themes from the show, usually with screencaps provided.

Icontests are a great way to challenge yourself if you're an experienced icon-maker, as well as a wonderful place for beginners to learn. There's a new challenge running every week, so I'll hope you'll come check us out. :)
