For as long as anyone can remember, the City has always been one of the largest metropolitan centers in the world. It has had its share of glory and decline, but none so great as the age following the founding of OzCorp. Michael Ozma was no man of magic, but he might as well have been, for the technological wonders he wrought. He invented a software interface so advanced it seemed uncrackable and reshaped the corporate world in the City. Even thirty-six years after his death, his revolutionary ideas are still inspiring work on OzCorp's newest water-powered engine.

Today, the Gilded Age is long past. OzCorp, now led by Ozma's three daughters, has become corrupt, and the City has fallen from its glory days. Crime and drugs now rule the streets, though some aristocrats continue to live above it all.

Inspired by folk-lore and fairy-tales, Not So Far Away is a unique Role-Playing World that brings characters from fairytale, folklore, and mythology from around the world together into an ever-expanding universe. The only rule is that every character represents an arch-type from another story, whether that be Prince Charming or the infamous Mr Toad. Having trouble conceiving a character of your own? We have a long list of suggested character concepts that can play an important role to the overall plot of our story. Just remember, everyone has a tale to tell, and every tale has its own heroes and villains.

A POSSE AD ESSE
from possibility to reality

The town of Fairview is a rather normal town. There's a state-funded public university, chain grocery stores, a couple high schools - and a thriving population of people whose personalities are strangely familiar. The girl down the block is trying her hardest to open a restaurant in the memory of her father. That college student is keeping his profession secret from his father. All of the residents of Fairview have the same personalities as the children's movies you grew up with and are still coming out in theatres today. Just don't tell them, because they won't understand what you're talking about.

Oh Marvelous: A Marvel RPG
"Did you ever have one of those lives?"

You inhabit a fantastical universe where anything can happen. Super powered beings exist, and living a sane life is no easy feat for anyone. In such an extraordinary world, an average day can be ruined by the strangest of threats; be it viral zombies, megalomaniacal criminals or assassination attempts. All just part of a normal day in a very abnormal world. You don’t even glance up at the shrill whine of sirens or the roar of a giant monster a few blocks over. In the sky above a caped character is flying towards the fray; a member of some super hero team or perhaps a lone vigilante. Maybe the monster is a mythical creature or an invading alien or a minion of the latest super villain. A van is hurled down the street followed by another angry howl but you go casually about your business- buy your newspaper, sip your latte- and mutter cynically to yourself,

"[info]oh_marvelous."

Oh Marvelous is an age 18+, social, thread based, third person, AU Marvel RPG played in real time (quite a mouthful). The game is set in present day. Although the game is New York centered, action takes place in locations all over the world. Plot is primarily player driven with occasional inclusive plots that affect the entire game. This game does not follow any set timeline or particular Marvel continuity. That means that pretty much anything goes.
