The sleepy, rural town of Kingwood, California may seem like any other small town, but things are not what they appear. For in this little town in Northern California, the people that live their day to day lives, year after year, are not what they seem.
Imbued with the memories of our most beloved characters out of storybooks, the citizens of Kingwood are living, breathing reincarnations of these legends. No one knows why they exist.
In fact, aside from dreams and memories that sometimes spark up, no one is even aware that anything is different about them or their town. However, they are different and it is the town's magic that sparks the character deep within. And with more and more people moving to Kingwood, the lines between real and make believe continue to become more and more...

Spirit Communication. Students in this focus are the most mysterious on the island. Their magic doesn't rely on the physical elements of their environment, but the metaphysical. They communicate with the dead. Friendly ghosts, poltergeists, one-legged pirates... they all show up from time to time. They are the only students who can actually have a conversation with someone from the world outside of Atlantis - although they still don't quite exist in the physical world.
Talking to the dead isn't just for the pagans and goths among us. Variety is key. Not all spirits want to talk to kids with smoky eyes and black nail polish. If the wand chooses the wizard, the ghosts choose the students.
Come one, come all. Talk to the dead at Atlantis.

The Crescent City Institute of Magic is one of the best schools for Witchcraft and Wizardry in the United States. Located in the culturally rich city of New Orleans, it has had its fair share of tragedy for such a praised and respected school. First was hurricane Katrina, which rocked New Orleans to its core, and the death of the headmaster as he helped the students evacuate.
This past school year has proved itself to be dramatic, interesting, and terrifying. Like any high school, CCI has had its fair share of petty drama caused by students along with the ups and downs of boarding school life. But there are other, darker, things to worry about.
Students have gone missing and creatures never known before have been spotted and attacked students. There are activists out in the streets of New Orleans trying to alert Muggles to the presence of evil Witches and Wizards. There is also a strange epidemic of missing socks.
This school year is almost finished, but this is only just the beginning.

| Game Information | Taken Characters | Application | Rules | Place a Hold | There has always been magic in the world. It enters during periods of great destruction, sneaking into the world when humans are unaware. Most humans can't see magic. It is protected by the Delirium, a veil of thought that keeps ordinary people from seeing what they don't comprehend. The unicorn they saw walking down the street? "It was a white horse." The ghost in the living room? "A trick of the light." That man who vanished in thin air? "Mirrors." There are a few who are able to see past the Delirium. They find themselves drawn together as magic calls to itself. Two factions have formed--the Mages, those who bend magic to their will, and the Witchfinders, those who are determined to control magic and protect humans from experiencing it. The Witchfinders have been successful in pushing magic back for years. But as centuries have passed and science taken hold, the faction lost its power. As a result, it weakened. Magic finally had its chance. You can reach either of the mods by emailing the main community address – cityofthestraits@gmail.com. This game is set in 2010 and located on InsaneJournal.

There was once a time when the world accepted magic. Even worshiped and sought after those who wielded it. Today, that is a different story. Today sorcerers are living among the norm, hiding from oppressors and hunters that would try to capture their abilities for their own dark desires. In their state of hiding the families still hold to some of the old code, promising to protect those things mystical and magical. The time has come for war in Alloria, the magical plane of existence where all beings magical may live without fear. The elders have left to protect Alloria, leaving their eldest children as head of the family.
Now that the families are together again, all penned up in one Vallistaire Manor, what mischief will begin? Will old ties be renewed or will the distrust erupt into a war between families? Will lovers find forbidden fruit?
Come see the plot thicken.
