An old, simple recipe handed down through the generations - and with so many variants - the Guldove method of cooking fish has become distinct through the specific use of spices and capers. Although it can be hot or mild, certain ones are always present. Skate is one of the most common bases used in Guldove, but since her departure to the mainland to travel with Serge, Steena quickly adapted the recipe to work just as well with river-dwelling fish.

Subarucookies and Seishiroucookies

It’s all fun and games until someone loses an almond. Then it’s dessert.

The following recipes contain many jokes that are in poorer taste than the eventual product. Also, image-heavy!

The desserts of Vagrant Story, like their FFXII counterparts, are all meant to be made from scratch; ornate; requiring delicate flavor combinations. In the spirit of the city itself, though, all of these desserts are wet.

Here is how I reckon the alcoholic content of a dessert:

If the spirits provide flavor alone, the confection is drizzled. For instance, the Kahlua glaze on the Balthier cake.
If the alcohol is enough to be tasted, and enough to cause a noticeable "buzz", the confection is doused.
If, were it not for the sugar content of the dessert itself, you could be advised to not drive home, the confection is drowned.

That warning in hand, I present,

Chrono Trigger Cupcakes

For these, you will need to prepare batter for vanilla and chocolate cupcakes according to your favorite recipe. If you're making Magus' as well, set aside a little of each so you can marble them.

Chrono : Chocolate cupcake, chocolate icing, and a generous orange slice with the rind still on.

Lucca : Chocolate cupcake with SPRINKLES swirled in to the batter, vanilla icing, SPRINKLES SPRINKLES SPRINKLES on top, and a raspberry for show.

Marle : Vanilla cupcake batter with a little orange and brown sugar baked on top as streusel, white glaze.

Robo : Vanilla cupcake batter with pecans swirled in, chocolate glaze, a few sprinkles.

Ayla : Chocolate cupcake turned upside-down after baking, filled with vanilla icing and a chocolate kiss, then topped with chocolate glaze.

Frog : Vanilla cupcake batter with pistachios swirled in, vanilla icing, and white coconut.

Magus : Vanilla and chocolate swirled batter, vanilla and chocolate swirled glaze.

Archadian Judges Magister Prohibition Ice Cream Cocktails

Gabranth's Rule of Law:

In a blender, mix until uniform:

2 parts chocolate ice cream
1 2"-square brownie
a healthy dash of chili powder (forego this if you're using a Gabranth Brownie from the earlier recipe set)
a teaspoon of cinnamon
chocolate syrup
milk to balance

Before poured, add in:
2 shots of decent tequila

and blender it for three seconds.


Drace's Maces

Two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a dish, one larger than the other. Dress with two shots of goldschlager, garnish with gandied ginger and two piroulines.


The Ghis Fandango

You will require:

two shortbread cookies of at least three-inch diameter, one of these halved
rum raisin ice cream (or vanilla, with the caveat of providing your own golden raisins, a quarter-cup per serving)
good, solid rum

Layer as follows, in a saucer or bowl: the whole cookie; the ice cream; the rum, sufficient to soak the confection; the halved cookies, speared in at aesthetic angles.


Zargabaath's Coda

Fill a pint-glass a third of the way with vanilla ice cream. Prepare a very dry vodka martini atop it. Stir gently.


Fire and Ice the Bergan Way

Prepare a black-and-white milkshake. Fill the glass only half-way. Pour atop it a shot of peppermint schnapps and a shot of goldschlager. Do not stir. Drink from the bottom up, through a straw, quickly.


Zecht's Homeland Security

A dish of vanilla ice cream; honey; fresh sliced papaya; Bacardi; fire; bliss.
