Who: Bear & Open What: BBQ Where: Bear's front porch When: Sunday Afternoon Warning: TBD
The smell of sizzling meat wafted through the air as the big man opened the lid to his large barbecue grill and tossed on another sizable slab of fresh seasoned meat. Oh it was a far cry from the days before the world ended; when you could just run to the store to fetch fillets steaks or beer brawts. Still the Sheriff made do with what was on hand, and in this case his meat 'supply' came from the pack of wild dogs that he killed over in Primm. Honestly those mangy mutts had unintentionally crossed a line when they tried to make a meal out of the scavengers...and now Bear was quite content to make a meal out of the dogs in turn. With a ride from Alex the Sheriff had made a quick trip out that way, and after half an hour the mountain of a man returned dragging eleven dead feral beasts behind him by their tails. All in all it was a good morning, and after spending some time skinning and prepping the meat the big man decided it was time to start grilling.
A portion of the steaks and meat would go to the kid for teleporting Bear out there. A small amount would be stored for the Sheriff too. However he already planned on preserving the rest so that the town could enjoy some fresh steaks and dog burgers at the next community meal. With a faint grin on that usually stoic stone face he slathered on a bit more bbq sauce, and turned the rack of ribs over as well. Done with that the lid to his grill was closed, and after grabbing his pitcher of still cold pulque John grabbed a seat in the folding chair on the deck. Things were quiet, and that suited the man just fine. After all there was nothing better than just relaxing in the shade; drinking something strong, and lounging a bit as he waited for the first batch of meat to be done cooking.
