His silence wasn't intended to be cruel in any way. Though when she continued speaking, and even went so far as explaining it was his kid...even though he already knew it, and had accepted her words at face value...well Bear just softly sighed to himself. Sure he wasn't great when it came to emoting or being verbally expressive, but that really wasn't a surprise to anyone who knew the man more than a few moments. Still when that gave of hers drifted to the ground it became clear that San needed something more than just a nod and a one word response. Oh it took him a moment longer to form his thoughts, and a moment more to finally suss out just what he wanted to say. So after taking a slow sip of his cold drink, and setting the glass back down, the large man finally spoke up at last.
"Figured it was mine, since you came here to let me know. Don't doubt your word on that count at all. Far as what comes next...well it's up to you. Keep it or don't. Whichever way you decide I'll support you. Not really worried bout the safety of you...in the sense that having kids ain't pretty since the world ended; but you're strong, heal fast, and we got a proper clinic now thanks to you and your other half." He paused for a moment to consider what else to say, and merely shrugged before chiming in again. "Plus if you decide to keep it; well Carter's about as good a place as any to raise a little one. Actually better than just about anywhere else. The town is safe, we ain't hurting for food and supplies. Folks here take care of each other, and this community ain't struggling to survive...we're actually starting to thrive. If you want to keep it I'll get the word out that you and the kid are under my care; so anything you need will be taken care of and I'll foot the bill. So you won't want for nothing either."
