This year had sucked. She was living as a marked woman, a little scar on her knee reminding her that not even her body was her own. She was the governments whether she deserved it or not. She still was the same happy hyper blonde that her friends expected her to be but a night she couldn't help but sink into anger. This wasn't the country she had fought for. Sometimes she wonders why she didn't leave to begin with, why she still doesn't leave. She doesn't have family here except for the kind she forged herself. Life wasn't all bad but is she drank so much she couldn't remember the end of the year she wouldn't be heartbroken.
George's party had been as good as she expected it to be. She was currently soaked as George had thrown her into the pool but a half arsed drying spell had taken care of most of it. She had drank enough that her face was numb and her voice was booming but she still had most of her wits about her. She had tackled all of her old school mates and lost her shoes ages ago. She had been talking to whoever had a free ear, never staying in one spot for long. Anthony had turned out to be more fun than she expected. He wasn't her normal type but he had a smart mouth and a nice face and she was glad he had come along.
Alicia slowly registered that the ball was about to drop. As much fun as the party was, and it was a complete blast, she was promised fireworks. Alicia had an unhealthy love of watching things blow up that even the war couldn't cure. She moved through the crowd, trying to spot the Ravenclaw. Shoes or no she was tall and finding him wasn't too difficult. "Oi you," she said, coming up behind him and grabbing for his arm to pull him in no direction in particular, "I was promised fireworks."
