"Oi me," Anthony replied, followed by a silly, "Oy vey" and a smile. "I've been looking for you. Thought you might've skipped out on me." All the time, Anthony had just been looking in the opposite direction wherever Alicia had been. "Fireworks you shall have!"
When she pulled him, a part of his body touched hers and he realized she was still wet from this evening's 'dip' in the pool. "You're going to catch a cold like that, it's freezing outside." Unconsciously, he was channeling his Bubbe. Unlike most of the people at the party, Anthony was sober. Mostly. Astoria's comments about drinking and splinching had stuck with him, and he was determined not to let that happen, not necessarily because he wanted to be safe, but because he wanted to spite Astoria. He'd been nursing a drink since he arrived and had a little buzz, but for later, he nicked a bottle of champagne from the refreshment table, so he could catch up.
The plan had been to go to the fireworks and then return to the party when they were through. Before he whisked her away, Anthony did a much better Drying Charm on her, and Accio'd their coats from the pile that had grown in the corner. They apparated to the location with only a minute to spare. Anthony had scoped the location out beforehand. It was across the river and a bit downstream, but it still gave an incredible, unblocked view of the London Eye, where all the action would be focused. They were alone.
Anthony checked the illuminated face of Big Ben to confirm. "Get comfortable and watch the show!"
