[PRIVATE GROUP FILTER: JAMES, REMUS, HARRY, SABRINA, DR. STRANGE, THEODORE, LOKI, GINNY, ABIGAIL]

Right, so that Roman bloke has clearly lost his nut and is going to try and murder one or more of the following people:
    • 1. Santa Clause
    • 2. Mrs Clause
    • 3. The Conductor

In my not-so-humble opinion, the Conductor — wherever they may be — can handle themselves. If Roman thinks he can find Santa, I say we wind him up and watch him go, and then grab him before he can.

We need someone on Mrs Clause. Ideas?

I'd also that Elves & Reindeer are at risk of being eaten by this bloke, so that needs taking care of as well. James, wards?

Nott - Don't know about elemental origin storms, but it is worth asking the Elves if they know where Jack Frost lives, as that is plainly a guy to rule out.

Who else have we hear talked about that we need ruling out? Let's bring the bastards in.

You're all on this filter because I know you personally to be useful people with a vested interest in the well-being of innocent people and/or not going against the explicit wishes of the Conductor/bus. If you can vouch for anyone else that fits that, feel free to add them in, but if they end up screwing this shit up in literally any way, I will be holding it against you personally.

Abigail - seems like you've not got powers but you're added on here because you're a charming girl and I want you to keep abreast of what's going on so you don't get hurt. I also don't want to do you the disservice of assuming you don't have hidden depths that may come in handy here.

I now yield the floor to my godson, Harry, who I assume is by far the most qualified person to take charge of this bullshit. If Harry doesn't want to trouble himself with it for whatever reason, it's up for grabs.

[PRIVATE FILTER: JAMES]
I swear I have to do fucking everything around here. As if we don't have more pressing concerns without this bullshit.

    How're you holding up?

EDITED TO ADD IN SOME TIME AFTER THIS: In case you were wondering, I'm still as useless as Snape's prick when it comes to making well-reasoned decisions.

[PRIVATE FILTER: MARAUDERS]
What do we know about Upirs? Moral implications of how we should deal with him when he may or may not be in control of himself? Any other thoughts we want to share betwit us that we don't want up there?

If it was just he wanted blood I'd say we'd take turns offering some up, but him having his heart set on murdering some poor bastard does muddy the waters.

Moony, I know you're mates with Malfoy now and I can just about respect that, but if you add him to the above filter I will not be held responsible for my actions. Any other ideas you've got, I bow to your superior understanding of being cursed.

[PRIVATE FILTER: HARRY]
I would say sorry for landing you in it, but if you're anything like either of your parents you'll need to be doing something right now to take your mind off not being at home.

Anyway, I'm not any good at this being in charge bullshit, and this kind of mess seems right up the alley of what I am sure is the best damn Head Auror the Ministry has ever seen.

EDITED TO ADD IN SOME TIME AFTER this: As I said, I'm shit at this taking charge stuff.

Perhaps you should have. But, you wouldn't be you if you didn't jump into action first.

As I mentioned in the group response, the only being special to the bus is the conductor and I'm not really sure they can be killed, at least not by us. But, if I was Roman and I was going to try to kill the conductor, I'd have to find Santa in order for the bus to bring us back. Otherwise there's no means of reaching my target. So, I don't think Strange's psychological analysis applies in this particular instance.

With regards to Jack Frost, all I can say is that you really need to work on your brain to mouth/phone connections. All of that might have been good to include in the original message. Although, I also don't think we can discount the possibility that the storm is a result of the imbalance created by Santa's absence, a possible breaking down of the magic that holds winter at bay here, the backlash of which would reach beyond the Pole's borders after this many centuries. It'd be like blowing up Hogwarts.

Yeah, yeah, I'm a thoughtless pillock, what else is new. [...] Didn't mean to say 'excellent' about the elimination part, to Strange. That was wrong.

If he can kill the Conductor, more power to him. I don't wish them dead, but I couldn't even get a hold of them when I first turned up. I still reckon Santa counts as special to the bus. We're here because it wants to find him.

I thought it was obvious, didn't I? Before I'd got here and I'd only talked to the Order for six or seven months, I'm not used to explaining myself. We should be talking to him anyway, and all the rest of the legends.

I'd thought of that, as well. Though my thinking was more that it's a potential reaction to Santa dying since it happened after he'd been missing for a spell already. And before you ask, my only thinking of why Santa might already be dead is because when there's no demand of ransom, it doesn't look good. How many times did Order members get snatched and never feel the sun on their face again?

And I'm the one always reminding you to pause and think. So, I'd say nothing new at all. You are a true Gryffindor, Sirius. Brash action in the face of potential danger is the unofficial house motto, isn't it?

This isn't the first stop we've made, though. I think Santa is part of the bus' mission. But, that mission is larger than Santa. I'm not sure what it is, exactly, but Santa is more of a means to an end for the bus, I think. As he is with Roman.

I know you're not used to explaining. That's why I asked you privately to explain your thinking to me. It's a god thought. It just wasn't obvious to me thrown in as it was amoung the rest. But, you're right, we should talk to him and the others...if they'll let us.

Perhaps the storm is twofold. Without Santa the magic is weakening, but it's still there as along as he's alive. If he dies, then the world gets plunged into a new ice age?

Yeah. You are. We got lucky, me and James, that Gryffindor got you. That you're here.

I'm following what you're saying and I'm up for discussing this seriously more, but can we take a moment to acknowledge how our problems are always so fucking interesting? Someone out there may have a love/hate relationship with Marauders one and all, but it certainly doesn't want us to be bored.

Has this bloke said what his feeding requirements and habits will be, by the by? As I don't mind him drinking some of my blood, so long as you and whoever else is around to stop him from draining me. [...] Don't tell Prongs yet that I'd offer that, you know how he worries.

Or unlucky that someone is around to try curbing your enthusiasm.

You're a good man, Sirius Black. Most of what we've discussed at the moment is...adjusting. I doubt he knows specifics so soon, in any case. But, if it becomes necessary, we can figure out the best way for everyone's safety...and then tell James to circumvent the worry.

However, I think we've about exhausted the amount of serious there is to talk about. So, yes, let's take that moment. Although, I would posit that it's something about all of us together. The last eight years have not been quite this interesting, more interesting research than challenging situations aside from the obvious.

Now you're just being self-deprecating for the sake of it.

Then I truly have become everything my mother feared. Not just a blood traitor, but a good man. Sabrina's got a plan for it, as well. Have you talked to her much?

It's alright, Moony, you can out and say it: I'm what makes things interesting. Though what kind of research have you been up to, if I may enquire?

Not really. Just stating an observation.

I have spoken to Sabrina a little in messages. But, I have not had much of a chance to converse with her in person. I had offered to assist her with some research, but it has yet to happen.

I don't think there is enough space here to list all I've researched over the years. But, in general, I've been researching the origins of the curse, the history of my kind, branching out into studying other dark creatures as well as furthering my studies in various forms of defence and, by association with both defence and the curse, the darker side of magic with a focus most recently on blood magic.

You've never been the friend I'm unlucky to have made, Moony.

I want to hear all about this when you're up for it.

Maybe not, but I'm still the one likely to curb your more enthusiastic ideas.

Sirius, I am always up for talking about my research in long, boring detail. Perhaps not in this messaging system, though. Small screen, small text, far-sighted eyes...not a good combination long term.

I have a lot of enthusiasm to curb.

You're not as boring as you think you are, old man. We live together, I think we can make it work.

Part of your charm, I'm sure.

We'll make some time to sit and talk about it after we find Santa Claus, how's that?
