When: Sunday afternoon

Status: Complete
Elyse had spent the morning mentally recovering from the funeral the day before. While she had not actually participated as much as other might have thought she should of, it was exhausting to have so many eyes on her, so many people wanting her attention without her wanting to give it to them. She missed her… she wished she had been able to say a true goodbye.
The situation had been made worse by the fact that upon closer inspection of the house, it had seemed abandoned. She had died in her sleep, they said. There were still her clothes in the closet and food in the refrigerator. Although, because it had taken Elyse a little bit to actually make it to New Hampshire, a lot of what had been kept in there had gone bad. Not that there had been very much. Gram had obviously not been eating much in her last days. When Elyse thought about it too much, it made her more upset than she could handle. She had become a master at avoiding intense feelings. It was something she’d rather just push into the back. So, she did and she did it by immediately throwing away everything in the kitchen. As for all of her clothes and personal items, they had been put into boxes and quickly into storage. Elyse couldn’t bring herself to really look through everything, to remember. It wasn’t only Gram dying, but all the memories of her time spent in this house.
So now, it was time to shop for herself. She’d only had to stop a couple people to find out exact details as to where the store was, but she’d generally remembered on her own. There was no list of things to buy and no real idea of what she wanted. She wasn’t even sure if she really wanted to buy groceries, but she certainly couldn’t starve. Did they sell alcohol here? She couldn’t recall. Hopefully they did or else she was certainly going to be making another stop on the way home.
