Chuckling, she took his hand into hers and began writing her number down on it, “Ticklish on your hand? Wow, you must be ticklish everywhere.” It was hard to really be careful with the sharpie, as she had to write pretty lightly so it wouldn’t bleed into his skin. That would have made it indiscernible.
He certainly was cute; she could remember why she had felt attracted to him in the first place back at the base. She still couldn’t believe she happened to run into him. How ironic. The world really was smaller than she thought. She couldn’t help but smile, thinking of her grandmother and how she would have tried to tell her it was a sign. Elyse didn’t believe in signs, but Rebecca’s heart was always in the right place. She placed the cap back on the marker and returned it to its place in her pocket once she was done.
Offering a smile, she said, “So yeah, give me a call. I’m sure during our exploration we’ll find something interesting to do.” The town offered more than people might have thought, even though it was small. Elyse always had the theory that a place ends up being exactly what you make it; so if you chose to be bored, it would be boring. She never understood why people assumed there was more to do just because they were in a city. If there was one thing she knew, she never was able to stand sitting around a house for too long.
