Such situations as this never caused hard feelings when it came to Elyse. Then again, not much led to hard feelings unless it seemed truly necessary. She returned the shake, still holding a small smile on her face. “Yeah, back at you.” She could tell he had been relieved she wasn’t about to make a big deal about the whole thing and the same went for Elyse. Sometimes people tended to think it was mostly women who would make an issue out of things such as this, but she had had her own experience with men being just as bad.

She passed.” Wetting her lips, she shrugged, “It’s okay.” By that she hadn’t truly meant it was okay that she had died, but meant it in the sense that she wanted to talk about the whole thing about as much as he probably wanted to talk about his time in the service.
