There's a public thread open at Club Charybdis. It's on the corner of Knockturn and Diagon, second floor of the building. The first floor is a real estate witch. The club is only open past 9 pm (which is why we don't see it in the books) and tonight is their tenth anniversary, so half-priced drinks!

Feel free to drop your character in, and make up any number of unsavory types you meet along the way. It's probably attracting a bit of a different crowd than it did a year ago ... make up any details? Just reply with them to this post so we can keep it all together!

It is Dana again, the person behind Penelope Clearwater. I am now bring you Janelle Dorny, Slytherin Alumni, works at Misty Missy's Tea House in Diagon alley as a waitress. She lives alone is generally appears innocent and sweet, and definitely sucks up for people. Though underneath she is conniving, judgmental bitch. So she needs friends, enemies, and all sorts of things.

Oh and SL would be sad if I didn't say, she is so madly in love with Cassius

....

But that is so not true, Cassius and Janelle are just friends.

Yesterday, Kaz and I were discussing how we needed to give scenes and players credit, as we were quite pleased with how things are going. We each made a list, and in typical fashion, she stuck hers right up, and I am late. I try not to make a habit of it, but it's chronic, I'm afraid.

Anyway - here are some of the scenes that I really enjoyed. (Should you ever read a thread that you really enjoyed or want to comment on or whatever, feel free to post it up onto Authors, too.)

Bill. Older brother and new husband. When he's not reducing Percy into a stammering idiot, (and for good reason), he's dealing with a new surges of anger and being a pillar of support for his wife. I have to admit, I am picky about my Weasleys, but Bill is excellent. Makes me sad that I have to play the arsehole brother. Well. Almost.

Hestia and Viktor. Ah, a little romance. I think my favorite part was when she was touching his portrait (and I love that she's got a tactile thing) and said it was perfect, and Viktor seized the opportunity to kiss her. (With the portraits muttering about inappropriate behavior behind them!) Very sweet! I'm interested to see where it's going.

Roger. Roger cracked me up from the beginning, with his sunglasses and preference to shadow lurking. Natural, of course, for a Quidditch player. I felt for him, having to deal with Melinda, but loved the way he handled the ladies. I can't wait to see more of him!

Penny. Well, I play Percy so I've got a biased opinion about Penny, anyway, but it's nice to see a girl with a good head on her shoulders. Even if she does let creepy old Padrig to sit down with her. And I assure you, Penny, that the Minister did not resign because he slept with his secretary. Ahem.

Adrian. Ah, the tension. There's bickering, danish stealing, and coffee on leather shoes. I am looking forward to seeing more of the snobby Adrian Poncey Pucey.

And also, as a note, I hope people are paying attention to a Mr Gawain Robards at the Ministry. It's nice to have someone who's not affiliated with any groups and yet realizes that things are going very wrong. Everyone should check out all of the scenes with the Aurors. If you haven't, you're missing out on plot and good writing.

Okay, ladies, first of all, I want to tell everyone that I'm LOVING this RPG. Your characters are amazing and wonderful and just all around lovely!

In particular, I encourage you all to read every one else's scenes, as I know I'm really enjoying each and every one.

If you haven't read it yet, run, do not walk, to the Tonks and Remus discussion that occurs Monday evening. Gah. So lovely! Angsty Remus, hopeful Tonks - it's just heartbreaking!

Also, bravo to George for his first scene, where he introduces the journals! I'm so happy we have such a fabulous George! (Now, all we need is the second half of the duo!)

And I have to give big kudos to our resident madwoman - er, loyal Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange - and her recruitment of Padrig. She's so insane and so scary, and I don't blame Pig for doing what she says!

And omg, the scene with Marietta and Alicia ... oh the bitchiness. It's lovely!

Okay, I'm going to stop here, to give others the chance to squee, too! Seriously, everyone is doing such an awesome job. And to all the people I've scened with - you ladies are fabulous! I seriously love playing with you (and hope to play with the rest of you soon!) We rock!

My name is SL and I bring you the brilliant, the crazy, the earless... George Fabian Weasley. Together we hope to make you both crazy and happy. But before I go there, more about me.

I am 24, I play in a couple other games. I generally play male characters ^_^, I use the fire alarm as a way of knowing when my food is done cooking, and most importantly I can be reached at Standardbreak36 for plot and brilliance.

Hey guys,

I don't think I did this for Roger, so I think I'll do the introing thing now. I'm Bee, and I play your local Roger Davies and have now picked up Megan Jones. Roger is a Montrose Magpies Chaser. He's currently still on the reserves as he's only been with the team a little under a year, but he'll likely make it to the ranks this upcoming year. Roger graduated in 1996 from Ravenclaw, he was both Head Boy and captain when he graduated. Roger has a photographic memory and is really quite smart, which is why he sometimes comes off as cocky and full of himself. He's not, most of the time. He's not really involved in either side of the war at the moment, although he leans more toward the Order. Roger lives and works in Montrose, so he may not be seen out and about too much which is just as well cuz he thinks his fangirls can get in ppls way XD

I also have Megan who's a muggleborn. She comes off as a bit of a snob because of her background, though she's actually fairly nice. Megan's not exactly the smartest person in the world, and for a while totally did not get the whole Voldemort = bad thing. She's heading toward Hogwarts at the moment, although that's obviously not going to happen. For the moment, most of her interaction will likely happen through journals, as she tends not to visit wizarding Britain too much, because trying to tell her driver to drop her off in the middle of nowhere gets her funny looks.

Anyway I would love to work out anything with either one, and I imagine Roger needs a bit of a background loves, friendships and all that jazz. Meg's really nice too! If not here, you can always hit me up on AIM at Mandy Nott Lilly, or PM me as being in the UK doesn't allow for the most convenient online hours.

Sorry to bother you all, but if anyone is thinking of picking up a second character and doesn't mind a bit of fur once a month, I so far haven't been able to find someone to play Remus! I think he'll be a great character in this game and I'd love to have someone playing him right off the bat, since Bill and Fleur's wedding is a rather big event. Even if you might just want to temporarily play him until someone else comes along, I'd love to have someone to start the game with! So, if you're thinking of another character, come on, join up with the Order of the Phoenix and their favourite werewolf!

As promised, I've tossed Melinda into Diagon for work (HERE), so if anybody wants to play, please feel free to reply to the original thread (in other words, don't tag into a thread that's already ongoing - make a new one for your character and Melinda!)

Just ping me and we can start playing! Don't worry if she's already talked to a bunch of people - she can talk to many characters!

After chatting with players, we've decided to offer an additional RP experience here at Struggle Within, namely Journal Entries with the ability for other players to comment.

The concept is relatively simple, each player can use their journal whenever they like to make entries (just about anything, epistolary remarks, soliloquies, requests for flatmates, comments on what's going on in the world). They can then make these entries private, public, or warded to certain individuals. An entry, or a part of an entry warded private or to a select character or characters can only be replied to by those people. Public entries can be read by and commented on by all.

These entries should be written in first person and are completely optional. Any players who do not wish to participate in journal entries do not need to do so. Journal entries will also not count for the mandatory participation requirements for a character when activity checks occur.

The concept behind the journals is that they begin to be sold in August right at the time of game start (either by the Wheezes if their players are agreeable or by another individual). These journals can be bought by anyone and are sold simply for "fun", but groups such as the Death Eaters, the Orders, or Muggleborns, can purchase them to use to communicate with others secretly and therefore they can be used for a more interesting and relevant to game purpose if people wish.

Journal entries can be a fun way to interact with new characters and to get to know your fellow players. If you have any questions about them feel free to ask Holly (Mod - Fleur, Pig, Alicia).

Hello all!

We're officially starting on November 1, 2008, which will be August 1, 1997 in game. However, to get a feel for your characters, to create some backstory and form relationships, please feel free to start a scene and get to know your fellow players!

We just ask that nothing big happens until after Nov. 1 so those joining later won't be overwhelmed by a lot to catch up on!

Also, don't hesitate to comment to the Backstory Building post to help with that too!
