Who: Mabelle and Michel
What: Painting lessons!
When: In the week after their reintroduction.
Where: Louvre
Michel hadn't even bothered to show up for the first two planned lessons. It wasn't because he had more important things to be doing in the evening, but instead because he had continuously told himself that he just didn't want to go. He had gone so far as to make a detailed mental list of the reasons why he shouldn't go. However, all of his efforts combined just made him that much more tempted. After she had walked away from him again that day, he felt like showing up would prove some sort of convoluted point that he wouldn't have even been able to give if asked.
So, on the third day for their lessons, he finally showed. Why? Good luck figuring that one out. He hardly knew himself. He was bored and he was doing it for the painting. That was all. He had even gone out of his way to purchase and borrow what art supplies he could afford and gather. Offering to tune a piano or two for something in return still worked as remarkably well as it did before the revolution, and having a few things with him showed that he was at least trying to be somewhat serious about the interest. Even if he still wasn't too sure about that either.
Getting to the destination was the easy part. While he wasn't hesitant about it, actually entering the room wasn't quite as simple. He knocked first. Maybe she wasn't even there. There was humming, but that could've been anyone.
