I absolutely loved this story. Favorite moments: Harry as the Snidget making a nest in Severus' hair. I loved Harry's moments/thoughts as he adjusted to being human again. IN fact, I loved how you told it in Severus' point of view. His thought and emotions were truly genuine. Great job!

And I watched the video - Daniel CAN truly do wonderous things with his tongue! Why doesn't he have a girl again?

Breathtaking, phenomenal work. I was in tears or very near so at various points throughout the story and I love Harry as a Snidget. I love the ending when Harry pulls the sword from Severus' back. The outtake at the end was rather amusing too. Truly magnificent work, well done!!!~Sophia

So...every time I see the Scorpion King or Sword in the Stone, I'll think of you. The first passage is so visual that I was sucked in and couldn't stop (thanks for the nightmares again, btw. :))

Of all the animals you could've picked, the snidget was perfect. I'm not sure anything else could've so easily got underneath Snape's skin. It was endearing, the way he nattered and complained at it, but then ended up so attached. The juxtaposition of the somber state of the wizarding world (and Snape's dilemma) with the adorable snidget gave the entire fic an incredible tension--dire straights versus comical relief.

Snape's interior monologue was so IC, and your narrative description was so perfect that I could picture everything. I loved that he called him Featherbrain--so Snape.

The switch to Harry's POV was so aching and genuine. And Snape, to my pleasant surprise, handled it so admirably. I was afraid that he'd only be interested in 'using' Harry to force a resolution of his own predicament, but your Snape had the integrity to follow through with is years-long mission to protect and preserve him. That they ended up together...well, even if they hadn't, I would've been happy, but that they did was oh so satisfying and right.

The high point of the story was the 'reappearance' of the sword. Honestly, I had trouble staying in my chair; I did pump my fist and hiss, "YESSS!"

The pictures and graphics were so well done and suitably complemented the story, without being overpowering, and the OUTAKE! HAAAAAAA!!!

Great job, you two. I always look forward to your collabs, and I have to say this is my new favorite. And bonus points for using the Snitch so prominently! You get cookies and sparkles from the Team!

I loved the snidget so much – living hope and joy and comfort. (I remember that [info]acid6urn painting of Animagus Harry in snidget form, too.) The story-telling is wonderful, melding horror and isolation and heroism and high comedy. Your Harry and your Snape are both so convincing, so solid. Forgive me if I love your Snape best of all! Thank you both for so much warmth amid the ruins, and all the riffs on canon, like Gryffindor's sword from Neville's hands to Snape's, to Voldemort's, to its horrific sheath, ready for Harry's hand to destroy the monster at last.

I adored this story, I loved every second of reading. I normally avoid Voldemort-won-type-darkfics - so very glad I ignored my misgivings and read on.
The interactions between Severuus and the snidget were marvelous, the sword of gryffindor sheathed was grotesque, and Severus himself was bloody wonderful.
This story is destined to be at the top of my favorites list.

I was absolutely blown away by this, from the dark horror of the opening to the satisfying conclusion for Featherbrain and Featherless, and all their journey in between. Loved the story-telling, loved the illustrations. Bravo to you both!

What a way to start week, with your fic!

This is amazing amalgamation of text and illustrations.
It left me breathless and living in the universe of Snidget for at least several hours. I hope to write like you, when I grow up;)

What an amazing combination of ghoulish horror and hopeful charms. My emotions went up and down as fast as the snidget. It was so wonderful to see this wonderful charmer back again, and Snape's slow falling-in-love with the cheerful little bird was as deep and rich and whimsical as only you two can write it. The plot wove through the whole story ... I won't say satisfyingly, because frankly it was scary! rather I'll say it wound ominously through, like Moldiesnakewarts slithering through the ducts.

It's shudderingly amazing that you could make him a creepier Dark Lord than ever he was in canon or films. His insertion of the sword under Snape's skin was worthy of Lovecraft or the mad demon-priest from a Conan the Barbarian story. This fic had the same physical vividness, a fully dimensional feel that makes it all very real. This was enhanced by the marvelous illustrations, and the focus on the bird's actions and interactions with Snape brought all the senses into play. The resulting story is devastating at the start, eerie in the middle - and really sweet and fun at the end! I'll definitely read this again and again.

I thoroughly enjoyed this (wasn't sure I would) but I did. Harry was cute as the snidget, although certainly annoying for poor Severus. I loved the bit where Harry pulled the sword from Severus, it reminded me of Arthur pulling the sword from the stone. I loved the ease of their relationship as well, I think it helped that Harry was a bird for the first half of the fic. *g*

Amazing! There is a spectacular contrast in the fic between the dark madness that is the Dark Lord and the playful light embodied by Harry as Snidget. I shall never be able to forget the mental image of Severus becoming sheath for the sword, nor Harry smoothly retrieving it. Great job also when Harry first becomes himself again-the confusion and bird-like thoughts were perfect. Truly wonderful and original but I have come to expect no less from you both. ♥ Well done!

I have a confession to make...

I was so heartbroken for poor Snape throughout the beginning, that I wasn't sure I could go on with the story. A real testiment to how powerful it was, how strongly it grabbed me, squeezed my poor heart and made it ache so very badly. I actually emailed our illustrious Capitan for a heads up of "there's hope, isn't there?" She replied very quickly and urged me to continue and OMG I'M SO GLAD I DID.

There was so much to love about this! I'm pants at reviews, but you must know how deeply I adored Harry as the Snidget, and their banter, and Snape's caring for him and how it progressed into so much more for both of them. His handling of Harry when he turned back into a human created the need for more tissues. The care and the detail in how you wrote their touching and physical interactions with each other was so VISUAL. The ending was "sit on the edge of my seat" exciting and I was hoping that Snape wouldn't have to live with the sword forever. *whew*

But I loved as much their interactions after Voldie's defeat and I'm so glad you added that amazing epilogue. This is one incredible story that I know will be reread again and again.

*proud to be on your team* :)

A wonderful and very imaginative story. You really show The dark lord's madness, and what he does with the sword of Gryffindor in particular is shudder worthy. Your Severus is a gift determined, funny and human despite very dehumanizing circumstances.

This was just so incredibly well-written. The pacing is wonderful and I love the way you developed Snape's relationship with Harry - in all his forms. This fic had me on an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. The contrast between light and dark and hope and despair never let up once in this this gripping drama. I was both exhilarated and exhausted when I finished reading.

Like everyone else, I'll never be able to forget the mental image of Severus becoming a sheath for the sword, or the dramatic way Harry removed it. Brilliant. And the visual of Snidget!Harry making a nest in Severus' hair is really just too precious and adorable for words. Lovely work, you two!

This was quite the journey! I adore angst, so I really appreciated the piling on of the agony and raking of the coals, but even more than that I adore hurt/comfort, particularly good hurt/comfort. For me there can be no hurt without unstinting comfort in a fic. You gave that in plenty here, with steaming helpings of UST, and I just love that. :) Very deftly done, and it was wonderful to see our two heroes come through their trials to bask in joy and sex love. Brava! Brava!

Wonderfully done. I really felt for Severus at the beginning of the story - his anguish and grief were so vividly portrayed. I loved the developing relationship with snidget Harry and human Harry. Your use of the Sword of Gryffindor was impressive. I would have never thought of such a thing, but it worked so well. Loved the ending and the outtake.

Wow! The horror was so intensely dark--I just ached for Severus. And then the Snidget was so damned adorable! Only the unrelenting dark Severus was living under would influence him to allow a ridiculously cheery bird to nest in his hair. :D

Your newly!human Harry was amazing, and your romance fantastic. <333

I *loved* this! Such an interesting use of the "alive and kicking" prompt - instinct would have told me that it would always be Snape we were finding out was alive and kicking- nice twist there. I loved the Snidget/Snape relationship. It was lovely to see something worming its way under his defenses and becoming his friend. Then, to see it was Harry just made it better (although I suspected it I was never sure.) Makes so much sense that a Seeker should become an animagus Snitch (sorta) lol. So I suppose in this story, Snape gets 150 points and Slytherin wins as he caught the Snitch for good.

Such a sweet story all throughout and such a empathetic look at the horrors of Snape's servitude... especially once he had lost hope. How totally isolating.

Really enjoyed it! -Clare
