God that's terrible.
Why do Hal and Ollie keep talking about Hal's penis?
Talking about sex and penises in front of the teenaged girl. Nice.
this conforms my decision not to buy this anymore

Two comments: 1) I'm beginning to think that "Cry for Justice" is like Frank Miller's Goddamn Batman a sort of parody rather than a series comic. Robinson might has well have every single line of dialogue from every character be "JUSTICE"!
2) Once again Hal is acting out of character here. Just like the Huntress/Lady B thing in #2 it's almost as if Robinson is just ignoring past continuity with these characters. Hal and Supergirl are not only friends but she had a serious crush on him in Waid's Brave and the Bold #2 (drawn by George Perez). Hal also has history (as the Spectre) with the pre-crisis Kara Zor-El at the end of PAD"s Supergirl series (volume 4). He would not be so abrupt with her or think right from the bat she might be a bad guy - especially not the "new" Best-Thing-Since-Swiss-Cheese Hal written by Geoff Johns.
No Justice here, just crying I see.
See, comics like this are why I say I'm completely serious when I claim that comics creators are INTENTIONALLY producing bad comics out of SPITE against their own readers, because there's no way you can go from writing something as awesome as Starman to producing rancid dogshit like this unless you either a) hate your own audience and want to make them suffer or else b) have just undergone a self-administered trepanning.
Maybe it's supposed to be a drinking game?

JUSTIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!
Problems I See With The Preview
1. Even ignoring the previous relationship with Hal and Kara in Brave and the Bold... Supergirl CRYING after one hard sentence?
2. The same Ollie Queen who was embarrassed by his teenage sidekick Mia making sex jokes at the breakfast table is making dick jokes in front of a girl younger than his sidekick?
3. Prometheus, who took down the Justice League single-handed back when they were all A-Listers, is a second stringer?
4. Prometheus talks like Solomon Grundy?
5. Even if the JLA doesn't have rules against torture (which I'm pretty sure they do), I'm pretty sure that the GL Corps DOES... and their rings keep track of everything the GL's do. And the Alpha Lantern Internal Affairs cops are REAL strict.

I'm thinking that Robinson didn't want this gig and is doing as bad a job as possible on purpose.
Eesh, that first page has more Super cleavage than I think is proper.
Doesn't that say "GAY FOR JUSTICE"?

What's this, the second literal cry (as in tears) for JUSTICE! in this mini?
And more Ollie and Hal totally having a crush on each other.
Boy, this thing is almost snarking itself.
the borderless speech bubble thing would work better if they used a finer font and left a bit more room around the edges
The art on this is mostly okay, but...what's wrong with Supergirl's face in that last panel? She looks like she's coming down with a nasty case of flesh-eating bacteria, and last I checked this wasn't part of Blackest Night. Seriously, I think I'm going to have nightmares tonight about her face peeling off in strips.
There are no words for how sick I am of hearing jokes about Hal Jordan's sex life. WE GET IT. YOU ARE A MANLY MAN MADE OF TESTOSTERONE AND BALLS AND YOU LIKE GIRLS AND FUCKING THEM WITH YOUR EXTREMELY MANLY DICK. (But no matter how many times you say it, it's still pretty obvious you're gay for Ollie.)

I can tell that, for the remainder of this miniseries, it will annoy the hell out of me that -- because of one bad story -- people will be screaming about how the author is a talentless hack who's lost all ability.
Remember how Alan Moore wrote those awful Violator things?
Yeah.
The point is sometimes a bad story is just a bad story.
And I don't even *know* who this Jame Robinson is, and I don't have anything he's written in my collection. But for the love of mercy, comic book fans are a melodramatic bunch. There a number of reasons why things might've gone horribly wrong here -- editorial directives seem to be running DC at the moment. Maybe he's got other projects, maybe he's being heavily editted. Maybe his cat died or something and he's just off his game?
Whatever. The point is, shit happens. Again, even Alan Moore and Gail Simone had off days.
Now yes, I do think this series (from what we've seen so far) is awful (which is depressing, 'cause I'm just a huge JLA fan that I'd really wanted to pick this up). But I wish people would lighten up a little.
Should we have a Proactive Superheroes Done Right week? There seem to be so many instances of it being done wrong.

Why does Hal ask if Supergirl is there as a hero or a villain? Because of the New Krypton thing?
That's the only think I would say is good about this book. The ollie/Hal lockerooom dick waving contest.
Wasn't Robinson going to be doing a mini for The Shade? |
