Amazing Spider-Man #603

After last issue, Chameleon is impersonating Peter. He doesn't know who Peter really is. He attempts to get a grasp of Peter's life by looking through his old yearbook and photos. Among them is a photo of Gwen, and a message from Flash in his yearbook where he tells him to "stay puny".

As posted before, Chameleon!Peter has sex with Michelle. I have to ask--is this rape? Personally, I think it is as Michelle probably wouldn't have given consent to Chameleon otherwise. But some fans of the issue on Spider-Man Crawl Space are arguing that it isn't because she gave consent. Is there a legal definition on this?

Anyway, Chameleon!Peter has his meeting with MJ.

How do you not burst into flames of indignant rage if this two people getting drunk and then having sex makes you this pissed off?

Missing the forest for the trees, as usual.

If someone has sex with you when you are BLACKOUT drunk, as Peter was, THAT IS RAPE. There is NO ROOM for debate on this score. If you're too drunk to even REMEMBER what happened, then you're too drunk to CONSENT.

I'm actually being CHARITABLE by calling it MUTUAL rape, because if Michelle remembers what happened, and Peter doesn't, then that means that SHE raped HIM, which makes all of her rage at him after the fact INCREDIBLY morally wrong, ESPECIALLY since it's being played for comedy.

But whenever I read your comments, it always seems like Pete's the horrible rapist and your sorta hand wave Michelle's involvement.

The usual feeling that women have trouble raping men? Problem is, we don't know who propositioned who, who decided to go to Peter's bed, or even if they actually had sex.

Wacker said, "What you think happened is what happened," with regards to Peter and Michelle.

They both, as adults, decided to get blind drunk in the first place. What happens after that point is to some degree irrelevant though Michelle is probably extremely lucky that Peter (assuming it was him and not his doppleganger) didn't break or tear anything off her.

Which raises the point of whether or not you're legally obliged to inform a potential fuck budy if you've got non-obvious superhuman qualities, especially something like superstrength or massconversion.

Wow you just raised a whole lotta questions I really would have rather never thought about.

You can bet that groups like Friends of Humanity would be pressing for that sort of legislation amongst all their other anti-mutant/mutate endeavours because that at least would be capable of getting a wider range of support amongst legislators.
