Ick, Damion Scott at his most toonishly ugly. A badly thought out storyarc, badly drawn.

The plan by the badguy is interesting, though you'd have thought that just poisoning a few High schools would have been a better start. Killing any black-haired white kid between 14 and 18 one at a time seems a ridiculously time consuming method of doing things in a city Gotham's size.

Willingham's run on Robin was pretty awful IMHO, and this was amongst the worst of it.

Just browsing through the last few days and I come across icon_uk talking straight to my heart.

Willingham's run on Robin was atrocious. For those that didn't experience it, it was the same thing as if you had been told every month by an idiot doctor that you had a new, different STD, but you should be somehow happy about it. Like it was a gift.

I was not long out of my teens when Willingham date-raped my favorite title, and it has haunted me ever since.

A subtype of the Most Common Superpower - Magic Boobs. They are a completely different size in each panel!

This has carried over to the Batgirl book too. She's packing a good DD+ on the cover and then perhaps a C a little after wearing the uniform. Is it wrong to look for a normal proportioned woman?

When I was in school I used to draw this hero I came up with "Devonshire" and she stuffed so no one could tell it was her. she also wore a wig that is any nefarious type grabbed it they got tasered. :)

On the other hand (so to speak), her breasts are not high, round and firm beyond normal, so that should please many.

Just as a point of observation, I've never seen any posts decrying the inconsistencies of the sizes of a male hero's package. Then again, not being a girl, I'm not entirely attuned to always looking at a female character's dimensions.

Right, I'm predisposed genetically to look at certain areas. It's jsut the way I work.

The only time I recall looking at a package unprompted was that cover to JSA with Citizen Steel who appeared to have an entire shotgun in his shorts.

Guys aren't usually given packages at all. But that's really beside the point, since the two aren't really comparable. It's like being out in the Sahara desert and spilling your waterskin, and then being like "well nobody complains when I spill a glass of water back home in New York" when everybody goes "dude WTF." The vast disparity in treatment between male and female character and sexuality in our culture makes drawing absurd tits a very different issue than drawing absurd male crotches.

It's weird, but I really really liked the Steph-as-Robin stories so long as you ignore the Robin stories. She was so Steph-ish in Batgirl, had an actual story in 'Tec and was very fauxRobinesque in Teen Titans.

I don't care for the skirt and the leggings . I guess Dc didn't want to temp artists with all the up skirt shot potential with just the skirt.

Or to make it easier for artists to layout scenes without having to avoid upskirt shots. Either way.

I don't know how true this is, but supposedly the reason Willingham had Steph become Robin was because the DC higher-ups wanted to kill her off. This was her chance to "live the dream" before Willingham killed her. And it seems clear there were no plans to bring her back for quite a while.

I really think that Dick, as Batman now, should have a cadre of Robins instead of the one. It'd work perfectly - Steph, Tim, and Damion. Yes, I know Damion's not a favorite around here, but use what exists. Tim would be the more Detective-y of the trio, doing all the hard work and research. Damion would snark endlessly, demonstrate how uber smartsy he is, and show off his superior fighting skills by getting smacked around. Steph would be the fun, light-hearted, occasionally sensible but mostly high on life Robin that would keep the emo-ness of the family down.

Because honestly, I can't think of Steph as a character on her own. She NEEDS people to bounce off of.

She should bounce of Babs well, much the way she did off Bruce. It does seem like Babs is slated to be a major character in this iteration of BATGIRL, so we'll probably get a fair amount of that.

Steph's Robinsuit is really freakishly adorable. I'm still a little sad that she didn't get to use it a little longer than she did.

But this is actually quite a nice story. The art is a little weird, but it's nice to see that there actually was, at one point, some relatively non-dickish interaction between Steph and Bruce.

I really wish that the whole Steph-Robin thing had lasted a bit longer. I mean, I can see why it wasn't meant to be, but when Bats isn't acting like a jerk towards her, their relationship actually works very well. After all, the whole reason that Robin was brought into the formula was to provide a lighthearted foil for Batman's grimness - and Steph is just such a smartass, makin' with the quips whenever she can. I think if they had actually allowed this to stick around for a few issues more, we could've gotten some satisfying stuff out of it.
