Seriously though, I had no idea this female force thing was a ongoing series. I thought it was just kind of how they did the oneshot McCain and Obama comics. I remember seeing ones for Palin and Clinton at my bookstore when I was browsing the comic shelves and thought they were just political thingies and then other ones started showing up for Rice and Obama and I was like, "....okay..." and then I saw one for Princess Diana and I was like, "WTF is going on?"

Now that I think about it I probably should have gotten the Diana one because I always liked her, but then again, everytime I watch or read anything new about her I'm just like, "Her life was so saaaaaaad *cries*" so that might not be a good thing. And now I'm just rambling. *rambles away*

I love how soullessly mercenary this whole "Female Force" line is. It pays lip service (ha) to feminism, while at the same time offering no more insight on, or respect for, its subjects than any checkout line paperback. It's such a blatant fucking cash-grab, because if they had any sort of consistent ideology behind "what constitutes a positive female role model," then there's no way that the same people who published titles about Hillary Clinton and J.K. Rowling would do the same for Sarah Palin and Stephenie Meyer (or vice versa, depending on their politics).

If enough people lobbied them strongly enough, I seriously believe they'd publish a "Female Force: Nina Hartley" title.

Wow, it's pretty obvious that the artist on this thing had the one photo reference of StephENIE (goddamn that is an awful way to name a baby)and had no reference at all for Pancho there. Because she has the exact. same. smirking. expression in every panel she's in. While whathisface just looks all generic. And apparently everyone likes white shirts with their jeans while drinking juice.
