Who: Anyone
Where: The Arena
When: Day 223, afternoon
What:  Masquerade~ Paper faces on parade. Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you~

[The arena is dim today, the light of the torches giving way to a shimmering sort of half-light as one approaches. The ambiance is more that of twilight than dawn, and it flatters the smiles on the statue of the Twins high above. Tiny white lights flicker and disappear in the air, swaying and dancing like fireflies, but to any who examine them closely, they seem to lack substance.]

[What stands in the rest of the arena, however, remains a mystery- for towering to an improbable height near the foot of the stairs is a gate of ornate iron scrollwork, and the wall attached encircles the arena, blocking off the space closest to the statue. Lanterns of colored paper and whimsical metal shapes have been hung from the top of it, adding a splash of color- here Cepheus purple, there Hydra green, and all the teams represented in their turn. From above the gates, there rings out a voice that is pleasant and more than a little amused.]

A pleasant evening to you, little blanks. I trust you've had word from Ophiuchus? Do prepare yourselves accordingly. I've arranged a game for you, and my dear sister has agreed to help me put it on.

Evening ladies and gentlemen! My don't you all look positively lovely tonight. The fair Judges has asked of me to offer you a small game, and I do hope some of you participate.

The rules are simple. A costume contest, four categories. You pick which one you think your outfit falls under, and then the others will place a vote if they agree it to be the best. You cannot vote for your team or partner team. Any questions?

((OOC: Contestants, please describe your outfit under the category. VOTERS, just leave a blank comment under the person you like best in EACH category.))

*for as plain as some of the other costumes may be, this one seems to more than make up for it. the mask resembles the bottom one here, though made using the feathers and beads provided. the suit itself has likewise been overdone, using as many ribbons and beads as possible, with an ornate collar of ribbons and feathers finishing it off. and even his hair has been tied with several of the ribbons, instead of its usual scrap of uniform fabric*

Mm... think I did a pretty good job usin' all the decorations you guys brought us.

*and it does look like he means all*

[A Lepus with bling. His coat has ribbons on the edge and hem, and the back of the coat has a bunny in glitter. He's used excess fabric to fashion himself a cape, also covered in glitter and lined with beads. AND FRINGE.

He's added bunny ears to his mask and rolled that around in glitter as well.]

[dressed in Victorian style like the rest of Lyvus, in gray with purple accents. His mask covers one side of the face only, sweeping up and curving high, layered with feathers and edged with glittering stones around the eye]

[he's wearing a long jacket with tails, with a cravat and a high collar, with gloves and embroidered edging and the works; waistcoats, buttons, slim and streamlined. there is a crow pattern and a cat pattern in tiny rhinestones winding up each of the tails of the coat. he is wearing it fabulously, and every edge is meticulously sewn with attention to detail]

[Yoi-te's mask covers the left side of his face, sweeping up and curving high, feathered with glittering stones around the eye. His outfit is purple with silver accents: a long tailcoat jacket with a cravat and a high collar, with gloves and embroidered edging and the works; waistcoats, buttons, slim and streamlined. There is a crow pattern and a cat pattern in tiny rhinestones winding up each of the tails of the coat. ]

...Royal made this. I feel it best represents team spirit because... all of both our teams are wearing this outfit, though the colours are reversed, and because ... Corvus's is to Lynx... as these outfits go together.

[Wearing the Lyvus Special, courtesy of Royal and his love of sewing stuff.]

[Spear's mask covers one side of the face only, sweeping up and curving high, feathered with glittering stones around the eye. His suit is grey with purple accents, and he's wearing a long tailcoat jacket with cravats and high collars, with gloves and embroidered edging and the works; waistcoats, buttons, slim and streamlined. There is a crow pattern and a cat pattern in tiny rhinestones winding up each of the tails of the coat.]

Royal made our outfits. ...I think it speaks for itself, so I won't say anymore.

[Scowl's outfit is a simple pair of Hydra green slacks, a paler green dress shirt, and hydra green vest. The buttons of the vest are a slightly darker shade of green.

His mask covers only the top half of his face, ending just below his nose. He's arranged sequins on it in the shape of a winding terapede, using both orange and green to give it a somewhat mottled look. :3 It curls beneath both eyes and arches up over the right, the head set in the center of his brow.]

It's obvious, isn't it? When you attack one of us, you get all of us. Just like terapedes.

[is wearing a kimono that is made of pink material, with lace around the arm-sleeves that look similar to feathers on a bird's wings. White swans and red floral patterns adorn it. A light-blue obi completes the look.]

I tried to make it similar to what I think is tradition in the world I lived in before Sabra combined with the symbols that represent Cygnus and Pyxis. And also, the tie needed to be an off-color because otherwise there would be too much red and pink.

[Like the rest of Lynx, Rory is sporting a rather elaborate piece by Royal. His outfit is primarily gray with the Corvus purple accents. He's wearing a long tailcoat jacket, cravat included, and a high collar. Along the tails of the coat is a crow and cat pattern in rhinestones. There's gloves and along the edging of the outfit there are buttons, waistcoats, and everything is slim and streamlined, as to be expected of the military. Though one difference is the glowing flower from the reflecting pool in his lapel.]

[The mask is gray, still with those accents, covering one half of his face. It sweeps up and curves high, with feathers surrounding glittering stones for the eye.]

[And will just let the outfit speak for itself. Especially since it's you. =|]

[Watanuki's wearing a very simple kimono, much like this one, minus the feathers. Instead, carefully painted lizards (with the occasional sequin for eyes or claws) crawl up the sides. Very light embroidery has been applied here as well, to provide the illusion of scales. There's also some subtle Japanese calligraphy painted onto it, with just a ssmmmmall dash of magic in the words. A super minor (and not especially well-crafted, given that it's his first time trying it and he doesn't quite remember the specifics of it) illusion, allowing the lizards to crawl slowly through the fabric. Every now and then, one of them flicks a Cepheus-purple tongue out at any watchers. The mask is also lizard-themed, with sequins glued in an overlapping pattern to simulate shimmery green scales.

Tthe accompanying pieces of the kimono are Cepheus-violet in color, mostly in the obi and the lining of the main kimono. A simple running pattern of embroidery decorates the obi, with a small violet crown to one side of it. He's also managed some super-makeshift geta out of an old pair of sandals from before the uniform change. ... or at least he did. They may still be in Tsuna's possession if he hasn't gotten them back.]

Are you voting?

[Tonight Strike is wearing an elaborate long sleeveless dress layered in gray and purple with elaborate embroidery along the edges and a rhinestone cat and crow pattern sweeping up the back and curving around her waist on the front. The waist of the dress tucks in in a corset laced with purple ribbons, the top of which opens up to reveal purple fabric over her chest and a small opening that cuts away to a tall gray collar. In the front, the gray splits revealing the purple fabric beneath which seems flowing but solid until she walks, revealing long slits up her legs to allow freedom of movement. She's also wearing elbow-length gray gloves and her mask covers one eye, ringed in rhinestones, with feathers curling up over her hair that has been elaborately decorated in ribbons of gray and purple.]

None at all.

[Has pants! Seriously, that was her biggest goal, to have them as they are just more practical. She's not much for fashion, so her's is rather simple. The aforementioned pants, plus this jacket in the Lacerta green, as well as gloves. The only really fancy thing is the lizard carefully painted on the jacket, tail coming up along the sleeve, the lizard painted to look like it's wrapped around the body of the jacket.]

[The mask joins Watanuki's in the theme of being lizardking with sequin scales, but otherwise kept rather simple.]
