The elevator stops just outside of the fence you saw before, but on the other side; there is another fence here, made of jagged mirror glass that points up to the sky. There are WORKER EXCELS here, too, smashing the shit out of it with sledgehammers, but they stop and salute when you appear.

Thanks to their efforts, there are areas wide enough for you to cross safely. Do you:

A) Continue on your noble mission
or
B) Pick up a sledgehammer and some safety goggles and start SMASHING
