Game 97
Who: All units
Where: The Arena
When: Day 148, late evening
What: Game 97

[The call that echoes out from the arena this evening has no voice human ears can hear. Some few may hear a whistle, high and sweet. For all others, the call comes in how the torches of the main caverns flicker and flare in the sound's wake, sending long shadows dancing over the cavern walls.

The lights steady and dim. Colours fade and only one shadow remains, stretching unerringly, no matter how one moves, to the arena's entrance.]

Come fox and hare, come dog and cat, come crow and noble swan. Come hundred-eyes, come many-heads, come single crowning horn. Come lizard sharp and dolphin swift, come hunter proud and royal crowned and ship's unerring guide.

Come serpent dark, and sheathe your fangs; there is no need for them to shine.

I wish to play a game.

These are the rules:

One of your number will pose the question, "Truth or dare?" Others then reply, choosing one of those two.

To those that request 'truth', a question is asked. This question must then be answered truthfully by the one to whom it is asked.

To those that request 'dare', a task is given. This task must then be completed by the one to whom it is given.

Once the truth has been spoken, or the task completed, it becomes the respondent's turn to ask, "Truth or dare?" And so does the game continue, until it is brought to a close.

For those asked a question they wish not to answer, or those given a task they will not complete, there is a choice. They may request that the one who first posed the question draw instead a card from the boxes before you: to the right, a truth to replace a truth; to the left, a dare to replace a dare.

Or, if they wish, they may extinguish one of the torches that encircle you all.

But know this: a card, once red, must be followed; and a torch, once extinguished, cannot be re-lit. Choose carefully which path you will take.

Those with questions may ask them now.

To keep the page from freezing, please reply to the main post if you wish to ask 'truth or dare'. Those needing truth or dare cards can ask in #shadowplay. There is no compulsion forcing truth; however, should your character choose to lie, please PM or ping 'Shadow' on IRC to let me know. Likewise, please PM or ping me if anyone puts out a torch. You begin with twenty-five.

Can we have a magical box of props to make the dares more fun?

No. But you may depart the arena and return, if you so wish.

I wanted to make people wear thongs, but I guess I'll have to find a way around it.

Probably a great deal.

Are the dare cards in that box in any way harmful or life threatening?
