[Beacon Hills Hospital]
Who: Stiles and Lydia
What: Hospital visits. So dramatic. So traumatic. So much fun.
Where: Beacon Hills hospital.
When: The day following this, i.e. a few hours later.
Warnings/Rating: Pending? I don't think anything harsh. It's Stiles and Lydia. They're cute teenagers.
Stiles had admitted to breaking into the school ("for a homework project") and then getting stuck in the basement. The entire ER staff knew both Scott and his best friend on sight, so they all collectively rolled their eyes and accepted the half-truth. The lightning, now that was no half-truth, even though no one could really explain how the building lighting managed to reach the basement door. Almost every M.D. in the hospital had stopped by to marvel at the fact Stiles wasn't a) paraplegic, b) comatose, or c) dead. In fact, he was actually pretty healthy, once he'd gotten over the twitching and the medical shock.
They probably would have agreed to release him in the morning if two things hadn't happened:
They called the Sheriff to inform him that his son was in the hospital (again), but he didn't answer the phone. They sent deputies over, and the Sheriff turned up missing. There wasn't anyone to release Stiles to, everyone realized, but he was eighteen and could be released under his own supervision... but no one wanted to tell Stiles his dad was missing.
The second thing, which really cinched it, ended up being Stiles falling asleep... and then having screaming night terrors that scared the hell out of everyone in the ER. One of the nurses called 911 before someone figured out they could just wake him up.
So they transferred him into a private room in the hospital proper and tried to figure out if there was any serious neurological damage. They scheduled a counselor to come talk to him that afternoon. Stiles ended up slumped on his bleach-smelling hospital bed, flipping channels on daytime TV, wondering when somebody would give him his cellphone before he went friggin' crazy with boredom.
