After all, a lot happens after the last bell rings at McKinley or the lights fade in New York/Los Angeles. We offer nightly and weekly activities as well as frequent group scenes and individual play.
We are currently looking for: Santana, Jake, Mike, Ryder, Kitty, Marley, Unique, Cooper, Warblers, Sebastian, Brody, Adam and a host of original characters too.

Sometimes the world you create on the page seems more friendly and alive than the world you actually live in.
Since the dawn of time, storytellers have enchanted audiences with their words. But there is an even rarer gift. There are those who, by reading out loud, can bring characters to life. Out of books and into our world. Most of these people prefer to keep their skills a secret but some do not even know this gift is theirs, until it is too late.
You know how your story begins, do you know how it ends?
Have you ever invested weeks, months, or perhaps years into character development only for a game to suddenly lose interest? For things to go awry and you choose to part ways? Are you sitting in a game that you've lost interest in simply because you don't wish to lose all that character development?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then Spinning Compass is for you!
We at Spinning Compass allow character development from any game. From Insane Journal? Approved! From Live Journal? Approved! From Dreamwidth? Approved! It doesn't matter what journal format they come from, your character will be approved!
We also accept Original Characters, and any canon fandom characters.
Character approval pending application acceptability.
Books are adventure! They contain murder and mayhem and passion. They love anyone who opens them.

 Creatures of fantasy now called 'supernaturals' interact every day with humans through the mystical protection of THE VEIL.
Some were once known as gods and goddesses, the inspiration for human fairy tales, and the foundation of human folklore. Most have adapted to a mundane life beyond THE VEIL masquerading as humans. Others have chosen to remain behind it outside of the prying reach of humanity out of fear.
Yet, not all the supernaturals are content to have humans deceived by this convenient 'gift'. There are those who would see it destroyed along with the AGE OF REASON. A global corporation called AEGIS exists to train individuals capable of piercing THE VEIL to handle these uprisings.
Welcome to San Francisco, CA. A very bizarre city setting established as the heart of this struggle in modern day for original fantasy, folklore, paranormal, and supernatural characters.
The community has been around since 2010.

A world of second chances in paradise.
October, 2001. Global nuclear winter. An accident with the Dark Veil and a Time Turner. A portal to New Zealand five million years in the past on an alternate time line. Muggles and Magicals work together to set up settlements on the island.
December, 2001. The Dark Veil is making copies of people from other points in time, as far back as 331 BC, and spitting them out five million years in the alternate universe past.
Most Wanted: Hermione Granger, Bill Weasley, Godric Gryffindor, Salazar Slytherin, Angelina Johnson, Seamus Finnigan, Ron Weasley and many more!

CHRONIC RESURRECTION
Want something a little different? Looking for an AU game? A marauder-era game? A trio-era game? A game where you can play an evil Death Eater without people assuming that you are a horrible person in real life? A game with talented players, an abundance of plot, and a promise not to die? ;-) Chronic Resurrection is a dark Harry Potter game set in 1982 and 2003 exploring the AU that arises following the inadvertent time-travel of four key individuals. We're currently at an interesting place as in 1982 Harry has managed to save James but not Lily, and the timeline is all screwed up in 2003. The Death Eaters have won and Harry is trapped in a mirror. We're currently recruiting for more bad guys and are being quite picky when taking applications for good guys. | Looking for a player to fill a line... |

Well, here I go again.
I've been looking for a brother for this girl in a fantasy/supernatural game with no takes for almost a year. Now I'm game for the best friend she's known most of her life, possibly a guy who never got a shot at her because she was engaged since childhood to a guy who grew up to be a cheating bastard. Now that her arranged marriage is broken off and the ex is pursuing another woman, the best friend totally has a chance to step in.
Think magic user who went to school with her (ARA; info in journal) that could have an acting grudge against her ex-fiance. Choice is up to the player if they want to be strictly on the fantasy side of the game or both sides (which involves the supernatural lines). Azzy needs a friend, a close one, so she doesn't have to constantly hide who she is anymore. Someone to trust and believe in after having her heart stomped all over. I'm looking for an active player who is on at least a few times a week since I'm a hell of an active player.

Alright guys and gals. I put up some ads for this guy a couple of weeks ago, but didn't get ANY responses for lines with him, so I'm going to try again (since commenting to others' ads didn't seem to work either...). This is for the game cityoangels. It's a city comm (PB), with a serial killer on the loose. It's likely going to have some mature scenes in it, but don't let that stop you or hold you back! We're fairly new and would love love LOVE to have more people join us!

It's 2020; eight years after the pandemic began.
In 2012, the first infected appeared in London. In 2013, it had completely taken Europe. By 2014, it spread to the United States.
By 2016, the entire world was deemed a lost cause. Cities that formerly housed hustling and bustling business, bright lights and constant activity are shells of their former selves. Electricity for the masses is a near-lost memory and now the only places that hold electricity are "safe havens" like shelters or churches. There are no more new cars or cushy apartments.
What little freedoms the infected didn't take away, the government destroyed. People deemed "immune," people who didn't turn when bitten, were forced into servitude. Those who had yet to be bitten had the option to help out as well. Immune, and non-immune helpers, were pushed to the brink of exhaustion by the power hungry government, who sat safely in their safe areas.
Finally, in 2020, people have moved on from the government's games. A small pocket of resistance, residing in New York City, formulated a plan and have created a true "safe haven" in Sing Sing Correctional Facility. No government, and a true safe haven behind walls that no infected can scale. After eight years of oppression, a change has finally begun.
But that change isn't simple, by any means. Now, the survivors have to contend with a constant government threat, and various uncouth rebel groups who want to take advantage of their advances or take them down from the inside. Plus, there's still the constant threat of infection right outside the walls, constantly dwindling the population.
The safety is palpable. But it's definitely better than government control.
