Lusty Month of May 2011 Rules!

It's baaaaack! For an 8th great year, the annual fest to thoroughly debauch our favourite Pervy Werewolf, one Remus Lupin! And, as always, the month contains fabulous challenges and prizes - or something like that. And since it's already May 1 in part of the world, let's get straight to the the rules!

The Eighth Annual Lusty Month of May Marathon:

The goal is simple: Write or Draw smut with Remus, posting here during the month of May in accordance with one of the four tiers. Writers/Artists who complete Tier One or Tier Two are eligible for the grand prize, and we'll have a community poll to determine the winner. Only members of the community will be able to vote, and if there's a tie, we'll have a run-off poll until a single winner is determined.

The winner this year will receive one year (this is an increase for only this year because I choose to gift that amount and I am a guest mod) IJ time or the donation of an equivalent amount to the charity of their choice if they prefer ($25). The winner and the runners up will all be lauded so that the rest of us can boggle, throw virtual flowers and chocolate, and cheer their stamina. There will be icons and banners for all LMOM winners this year. (And while I already have one volunteer, if you're interested in creating more icons, please email me at lore13 @ gmail.com.)

The Rules:

1. The story/art must be created in May, not before. This is to prevent people from simply pulling out all their smut from the past year or two and recycling it, or from jumping the gun and writing/drawing things before the challenge has officially begun (which would be cheating).

2. Each entry must contain smut of at least PG-13 level whether it’s a story or art. (PG-13: Somehow mention sex if you're writing a multi-chaptered fic, at least imply sex if you're drawing art)

3. You may cross-post. For example, if you write/draw a Remus-centric story/art for another challenge during May and the other challenge rules permit it, you may post it here for the LMOM, although please don't link from another community. Stories/art must be posted in full here to qualify, not linked from your personal journal, another community, or a personal website or archive.

4. The story/art may feature het or slash smut as long as Remus is involved somehow, even if just as a voyeur. Solo smut is welcome, too.

5. You may write/draw about
~ any scenario, including AUs and crossovers
~ any pairing, as long as Remus is involved somehow, even if only as a voyeur
~ any kink, and I do mean any. There are no exclusions here.
~ even vanilla smut, since I'm making an exception to the usual kinky rules for the purposes of this challenge.

6. You must use the following header info:

Title:
Author/Artist:
Rating:
Pairing:
Kink(s):
Challenge: Lusty Month of May 2011
Word count [if applicable]:

It's very important for writers to include the word count because that will inform me about which Tier they're competing in.

7. We do have community tags, so please remember to use them. Most pieces should include tags for: LMOM 2011, kink(s), author/artist, and pairing (or Remus Alone). You can find a list of all available tags in the sidebar of the community's main page or listed here. Tags are listed by author name, pairing and kink. If you are a new writer, introduce a new pairing or introduce a new kink, I'll add it to the tag list.

I want to thank [info]snapealina now for volunteering to double-check your tags this year!

8. You may begin writing/drawing entries for the LMOM as soon as it's May 1 in your time zone. You must start from scratch on May 1, not April 30!

The Tiers

Tier One: Classic LMOM Stamina
Writers must produce and post a minimum of 500 words of smut every day throughout the month. Artist notes are below. Writers and artists who complete this tier will be added to the Hall of Fame list, will be able to use LMOM 2011 prize icons, and will be eligible to win the grand prize at the end of the month.

Tier Two: Speed
Writers don't have to post every day, but they must produce and post a minimum of 20,000 (smutty) words by May 31. Writers who complete this tier will be added to the Hall of Fame list, will be able to use LMOM 2011 prize icons, and will be eligible to win the grand prize at the end of the month.

Tier Three: Sprinting
Writers must produce and post at least 100 smutty words every day throughout the month. Writers who complete this tier will NOT be eligible for the grand prize, but they will go on the Hall of Fame list and be able to use LMOM 2011 prize icons.

Tier Four: Walking
Writers or Artists must post anything smutty with Remus (long or short, drawable or full art) once a week in May. That will be 5 times, including the short final week, with weeks beginning on Sundays. Writers and Artists who complete this tier will NOT be eligible for the grand prize, nor the Hall of Fame list, but they will be able to use LMOM 2011 prize icons and be acknowledged in the wrap-up post.

Artists:
Artists may compete in the Stamina or Walking tiers - they may produce and post quick B&W sketches/doodles, full color pieces, or a mixture of both, but they must post either daily or once a week (Stamina or Walking). All artists who complete one of these two tiers will be eligible for the rewards of that tier.

Here are a couple more points to clarify the tiers

You do NOT have to choose/commit to a specific Tier. If you begin the month in Tier One, miss a day, and decide to switch to Tier Two, that's fine.

If you choose Tier Two, you aren't required to post a certain amount in a certain time frame, but you do need to include smut in each section you post, and the overall story should be appropriately smutty. Writing/posting in larger chunks doesn't exempt anyone from the smut component of the challenge.

If you use quoted material as an epigraph, you should not include it in your word count.

And that's it! If you have any questions, feel free to ask here. Happy perving! ^_^

P.S. Insanejournal Downtime Contingency - If InsaneJournal is down for a significant amount of time and you miss the posting deadline because of it, you may post your entry in your journal and then come to Pervy within 1 day of IJ coming back up to repost the missing post (or posts) in its entirety here with an additional link back to your journal entry so I can check the timestamps. Rather than taking a chance on what I think is Significant time, though, it would be better to create ahead by a day or two and post when the day begins instead of waiting until the last minute. Basically, I know IJ has been a bit up and down lately, and I'm willing to be flexible, but only to a certain point. So please plan accordingly.
