Summary:
Alana comes to see Hephaestus to finally start her studies with the forge lord. After chatting with Jarella, Alana is lead down to meet with Hephaestus. After making her choice to be a smith, Alana’s training begins!

Sunday was July 4th, so the July 4th party, it was decided, had to be on Sunday. It also meant a lot of places were going to be closed on Monday to recognize the holiday, so Alana didn't feel nearly as guilty. Sure she had work the next day, but she didn't intend for that to be too big an issue.

So the last emails and phone calls had been sent out to those in the area about the BBQ backyard party that she intended, friendly dogs welcome as normal. Booze was set up inside, with the cooler full of pop outside. Bags of chips, all the dressings for burgers, a tray of store cookies, and some bagged salad was spread out on a table with plastic ware, plates and napkins. Tannia was playing with Pirate, trying to wear him out some, as Alana walked into the backyard and shook her head. "It ain't gonna work. The moment anyone else shows, he'll be off runnin' again," she mentioned.

"Should we close the side gate then?" Tannia asked.

"Naw. This way I can at least see anyone comin' in. Means I can leave the front door locked." Now the only question was, who would she end up seeing actually coming in?

Summary: The last night of the two week trip together, and Alana and Hephaestus are on the ship. Alana finally reveals why she wanted the trip to him before breaking the serious mood with a desire to hit the town.

Summary: Hephaestus and Alana spend some quality time at his estate in Lemnos, Greece, before embarking on an ambitious Mediterranean cruise. They talk of this and that.

Alana had gotten the news about her boss, and about the funeral that was soon coming up. She still didn't know exactly how to react to any of it though, and the stress of work wasn't any help. She'd probably spent a day alone giving basic training to a temp just to try to lighten the load until she could hire someone. Because the temp? Not going to cut it. It was that simple.

But today was Saturday, her phone was off, and there was no way Alana could stand another few hours thinking about work. She needed an emotional break. So grabbing leash, and Pirate grabbing his favorite ball, the two headed out for some free time, walking and playing and being normal. For the secretary turned boss, it didn't matter much where they ended up, just as long as she didn't have to deal with cleaning up anyone's crap but Pirate's.

Summary: The day after Zeus is announced kidnapped, and after Alana finds out he's dead, Alana is at the hotel trying to get things in order. She calls in back up, in the form of Julie. They do get some work done...

Whatever! It tasted great. He looked over the spread he'd put out over the couple of tables he'd put side-by-side to create a traditional long table, though this was was far more varied in places when it came to height and weight. Ah well. The white tablecloth hid it well enough, and he was only short a chair. Otherwise, he was free to begin welcoming his dinnermates.
