OMG THIS IS SO EXCITING!!! This podfic thing feels like stepping into an unknown world, but I loved hearing your voice reading it! (Even if it made me aware of edits I wish I'd made lol.) Thank you so much for this!! YOU ROCK!!

And you used a hockey icon! *LOVES*

Yay! Podfic love! ♥

And yes, there are always edit catches when podfic is done. Something can sound ok in your head but you notice the offness of it when said out loud. I've also gotten a little more bold lately about fixing obvious mistakes/typos just so that the reading can be smoother, otherwise things can sound really awkward.

And you used a hockey icon! *LOVES*
I was kind of flailing over what icon to use because I only update my icons like once every 3 years so often don't even have icons for fandoms that I'm really active in, let alone ones I'm only peripherally in. On LJ/DW, I used a completely different icon, because the only hockey icon I have loaded over there is the one I used here, and it's a little too sense, and little less recognizable as a hockey puck.

This is awesome! (And this should totally be the mode of distribution for NSFW fic.)

And how do you speak so clearly?! *awe*

Yay! I'm glad you like.

Ha, its funny you say that because there was recently a debate over at [community profile] podficmeta where it was suggested that podficers cut out the NSFW parts of the the fic for a podfic. I guess some people find it squirmy to have someone make sex sounds in their ears (and to be fair, some people are better at reading those scenes than others).

And how do you speak so clearly?! *awe*
Well, 2 things:
1) Lots of editing. The original recording of this fic was about 20 minutes but less than 7 minutes made it out alive :P
2) Practice. I've actually done a lot of podfics (posted at my website if you're interested) and this one is certainly better than my first (where it sounds like I have a lisp for some reason). I've learned that it's much better to slow down while reading and when I need to repeat lines.

If you're interested in podfic, I'm planning to post a "Podfic 101" post over at [info]eskimo_kiss sometime next week. Or if you'd like to hear more (I'm pretty sure this one is the only AWZ podfic out there, but there are tons for other fandoms), I'd suggest checking out the Podfic Archive.

Haha, I can totally understand the squirm. Of both the reader and the listener. I'd just be glad that if I were reading, no one would be able to see me go red, haha. (Though, if I were listening, people would probably be a bit worried when I started blushing at random... hehe.)

I'll keep an eye out for the post! I don't think I could ever read it, myself - it'd be weird with an Australian accent, anyway, haha. But It'd be cool to be able to listen to some.

Thanks for all the info!!

Don't say that! Accents are awesome! And sexy! A lot of people worry if their accents don't match that of the show but, really, unless you're going to be doing funny voices and trying to sound like the characters, it's not like having a different accent is all that different from a female reader speaking on behalf of a male character.

Hell, I just read a podfic from the POV of a German man, in English, with a Canadian accent. I've also done podfics for British shows (Torchwood) and some of my favourite podficers (for American shows) are British, Australian or French.

Some listeners have issues with accents but just as many love having the variety. I'll admit, I often enjoy podfic read by someone with a different accent than me more than people with a similar accent (if someone with a similar accent to me pronounces something differently than I would, it throws me out of the story, whereas if they have a completely different accent I chalk it up to different dialects and ignore it).

Haha, I can totally understand the squirm.
God, when I was still living with my parents my mom once walked in on me recording in the middle of a sex scene *dies*

Also, [personal profile] general_jinjur, the one who owns the podfic archive, has said more than once that she's afraid that one day someone in RL will recognize her voice as the one to read that fisting podfic! :P

I'll admit that there have been a few times where I've blushed into my mic but what I actually find more difficult to listen to are the funny/sad parts. This is mostly because I listen to podfic in public (mostly at work) and people look at you funny when you laugh out loud or are sitting at your desk crying.

Oh, wow, yes, embarrassing! More than embarrassing! *dies a little for you* Haha, yes, people tend to look at you funny! I do that in class, though not with podfic. If we're on computers, I'll just sit there in hysterics of some sort or another whilst trying not to draw attention to myself. Not. Easy. Hehe.

Re:Accents. That's true. I'd rather listen to someone with a different accent to myself. Only, Australian accents have this horrible habit of being kind of horrible. Haha. It'd have to be just the right person. Which, I suppose, applies to all accents, so moot point, but yes. Some Australian accents are SO nasal, haha.
