There are so many things that I love about this story! I'm usually not a fan of first person pov, but you really pulled it off. Sophie is just awesome and I love the kids and the ice skating and all the little Christmas details. Seriously. I have so much love for this fic.

I just began reading this when I realised it was time to leave for a command family performance, one I haven't been looking forward to at all. So, I printed off a copy, stuck it a bag and then when I got there, I snuck it into the bathroom...where I escaped to when family began speaking oh so politely to each other through gritted teeth. I read it twice through. Thank you, [info]charlotteschaos's secret Santa. I am home fairly sane and having avoided any difficult discussion.

The story was fantastic. I wept both times when Narcissa allows it to slip that she knows about Draco's profession, but she still loves him no matter what. I loved Sophie and Draco, Draco and Scorpius, Sophie and Scorpius, Harry the punter and Harry the Auror and Harry the lover. I even liked Gin's visit to Draco. I loved Draco's love of his family, his missing his father. I loved Draco's attitude to sex and then his slipping into love and realising the difference. I love Harry's attempts to include Scorpius in family outings and Lily's tantrum.

I just plain love this story.

i can't believe all the one-line comments. this fic is brilliant and deserves comments that gush and gush and go on for pages of quotes and squee'ing. [*nods*]

i adore rentboy!draco and this version is wonderful. the fist person is excellently done. the characterisation sublime. i love everything about this fic, sophie, st thomas, draco, harry, ginny, pansy.

i want to go on, but my head is like cotton today (fighting a cold) and i'm just rambling. besides, your fic has completely overtaken any useful function that was left in my brain.

i'm rec'ing this in my next post, there will be much gushing.

Wow, this was amazing! I was going to do all sorts of things this afternoon besides read fanfic, but I read the first few paragraphs of this and got completely sucked in. Your Draco voice was note-perfect, and there was something so perfectly Slytherin about that whole storyline with him, Theo and Pansy. I really liked it.

I also loved that you dared to give Harry a small (but thick!) cock, and that you didn't fall into the tired cliche of true love=the best sex of your life. The sex, and all the characters, felt very real to me. Finally, you did an amazing job of setting the scene throughout the fic with little details that made each setting come alive in my mind.

I feel like I recognize your writing, but I guess we'll just have to see! Thanks for a great read.

Truly adored this. Draco's voice is just perfect for a rentboy fic. I love how unapologetic about his profession you made him.

I loved everything about this fic, from Draco's love of sex, to Harry possessiveness (hot!), to the relationship he has with Pansy and the children and his ex-wife. I think the only thing I didn't like was the relationship he had with Theo. That alone made me question him. Made me think he should be ashamed of himself. Other than that I was captivated by the entire story.

What a pleasure! I really enjoyed this story.

Some scattered specifics (I feel a bit wrapped up in the narrative, having just finished it, so this will sound like blather, I'm afraid): I liked the building relationship between Harry and Draco -- naturally, because you wrote it so well! But I also really liked the way you included the members of each of the main characters' families, how we see Albus Severus and Scorpius become friends, how both Sophie and Ginny end by supporting their ex-husbands, how Narcissa has rebounded from the difficulties the family faces after the war and dotes upon her grandson. I also just loved Pansy in this; she's not without guile, but she's still loyal to Draco, and her difficult marriage creates such sympathy for her.

Wonderfully done!

This - was - fucking - amazing.

It's 2.40 am. I've been reading for more than 2 hours.

You had me at the first line.

Then: "I do not escort. I am escorted, thank you." Best line ever.

I had to stop every 10 paragraphs because it was too much for me: rentboy!Draco (one of my biggest kink), Draco's voice (I could HEAR him I promise), Scorpius (God, how adorable was this child), Sophie!!! and here I must squee, because you know all the French references, le Marais, la rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie!!!! and all the characters were spot on.

The story. I can't tell you how much I loved this story. I adored Draco as the whore-who-likes-sex-and-will-not-be-ashamed, I loved the twist at the end with Draco as the new owner of a flourishing business *grins*.

The relationship between Harry and Draco? Everything that I ever wished for. The sex: gorgeous.

I could go on like that for hours.

Last thing: Wham's "Last Christmas"???? Mysterious Santa, whoever you are, I love you.

Oh, ooh, it was fantastic! I spent all night reading it when I really, really should have been sleeping but I can't find it in myself to regret it. Wonderful story, romantic and Christmas-ey in the best way, and hot, and lovely. I loved magic here, especially St Thomas. Thank you very much! Will be reccing.

Oh wow oh wow. This is brilliant, captivating storytelling. I'm generally not at all fond of "rentboy" fic, but this... this is something else entirely.

Your post-war Draco is so wonderfully jaded. Older, wiser, perhaps mellowed a bit by fatherhood, but still every bit as Slytherin as he ever was. Perhaps even more so in some ways. I absolutely love that he's consciously chosen to be in this profession -- that he's not in this position against his will because he's lost control of his life, but has chosen to be there because he's been able to regain and find personal power in it.

I love the way this fic almost thumbs it's nose a bit at a lot of the "prostitution story" stereotypes:

I could be noble and say that I provide these men with a much needed release, a place where they can be their true selves if only for an hour or two and only under a glamour. I, however, am most decidedly not noble.

The fact of the matter is that I'm a whore because I like sex. I like the way it feels and the way it smells and tastes. I like to come against another man's body; I liked to be fucked hard; I like to fuck hard. Unlike many of my colleagues, I've no ridiculous rules such as no kissing, no coming, no touching in ways I deem too intimate.

Sex is sex, and I'm very, very good at it.

Fuck yes.

You've done a beautiful job of demonstrating the ways in which people inhabiting different roles in their lives can take on radically different personas -- not just through Draco (as father, friend, whore; the Draco/Toby divide), but also through Harry (father, Auror, confused lover). I love the way the lines between the roles gradually blur and eventually disappear here.

I also adore the use of religious symbolism in this.

"Don't always believe what you hear." His mouth curves in a small smile. "There's always a bit of room for doubt."

God. That sex scene in the kitchen melted my monitor a little bit.

And oh my GOD I love you so much for the fact that Draco didn't entirely leave his line of work and "turn over a new leaf" or some equally lame thing in the end. LOVE YOU. Perhaps it's a weird pet peeve of mine, but nothing ruins an otherwise good story/movie/whatever more thoroughly than an ending in which a character "leaves it all behind" to be with their "one true love". Here, you've found a reasonable compromise that still allows Draco to be Draco, and have personal control in his life. Fantastic. ::cheers madly::

Wow, this was simply amazing. I'm not usually a fan of rentboy!Draco fics, but this is definitely an exception. I loved how you managed to make the profession actually... respectable. The relationships between Draco and his ex-wife was lovely- I'm glad they were able to stay friends, and I liked the parallel between her and Ginny. When Narcissa told Draco that she would be okay with any profession he had, I was just like awww. Also, it was nice to see the camaraderie between Draco and Charlotte. I laughed at the parts when Scorpius would repeat his father's swearing xD

Overall, this story was just brilliant and believable- Draco and Harry's relationship was developed wonderfully. [info]charlotteschaos is a very lucky girl!

This is such a wonderful read...it is festive for the season, the plot is great and never feels forced with all the wonderful details (the Last Christmas lyrics caught me.. for some reason it had become my Christmas song of the year)

Each character is so alive. Scorpius is such a darling and gives us a glimpse of Draco when he was a child. Draco and Harry are so in character. I love St. Thomas, I hope there is a guardian just like him, and I think he best represents what I like about this fic - there are no bad people, no bashing, no fingers to point.

Thanks so much for writing this, and Happy Christmas to you :)

This is brilliant. Just brilliant. The voice is fantastic, and the way you bring in religion in the Wizarding world as beautiful and so creative. I love the familial relationships in the story, and the way the Slytherins relate to each other. Scorpius is a great character, which can be so hard to do with young kids in fics. And the tie-in with the Christmas Season is great. I don't read a lot of H/D anymore (I like the ship, I just spend most of my time with RL/SS), but I have to say this is quite possibly the best H/D fic I've ever read.

wonderful! I absolutely loved the dynamic of Draco, his ex and son! I could really see that family in that light. Very real. and of course the H/D was hot. I loved the church bits (and me a non-religion gal to the max) so wow you've converted me to Draco-isim at least. :) Just amazing. Thank you so much for writing this up and sharing the world with the resto of us.

4:18 am here. And I had to read it all the way through. It was enraptured in the story.. Your first person Draco was addicting. You description of his interactions with the other characters was completely believable, and I do plan to return and read it again.

This is an incredibly engaging story. I enjoyed seeing everything through Draco's eyes, and that he was completely comfortable with himself. It's nice to read a rentboy fic where it's not about being destitute & a last resort job.

Each character was extremely well written. You've given them all believable personalities.

There are so many little things I love, such as Draco's interactions with both his ex-wife and his son, the progression of Harry & Draco's relationship and how Draco couldn't meet Pansy's eyes when talking about Theo.

Thank you very much for such wonderful writing. [info]charlotteschas is a very lucky recipient.
