Labyrinth OOC

Hey, guys. I'm so sorry about this, I've been thinking about the best thing to do, and I didn't want to make any sort of announcement until I had done so. I've been sort of mulling it over, talking to the other mods, and I think I've come to some conclusions. So, here's the deal.

This game, on September 1, has been open for six months, I believe. It's seriously been a blast running it, and I think Ally, Viki, and Jessi would agree with me. But, I have noticed over the last month or so that it seems to be becoming more and more inactive. I've tried to shake it up a bit, but the truth is, I'm going back to school in a few short weeks, and I don't have time to really give this place the restart it needs.

However. I also know how much it sucks to have a place close on you when you have lines that you like, so I am not closing the game. Rather, I'm taking it to a sort of group private storyline, where it isn't really open to new people, but the people here are welcome to stay as long as they like. I will no longer be doing plot things, day changes, activity checks, or anything like that. However, if the people already here have new characters they want to bring in, they can always email the mod journal and I'll add them. Also, if you have friends who want to come in, they're welcome, as well.

Because I'm not doing day change, the game will switch to a real time format. As for the setting of the Illusion City, it will be changing nearly every day, as follows.

Monday - Ren Faire

Tuesday - Educational

Wednesday - Amusement park

Thursday - Board games

Friday - Laser tag

Saturday, Sunday - None. This means everything is fairly dull and drab, but at least there's not weird things going on, right?

Uh, what else. Oh, yes. I am keeping Armand, Bones, Faith, and Legolas, and I'm still open to whatever random threads with all of them. Also, if anyone wants to take over running the game, let me know, and I will hand everything over to you to do with as you wish. You can just email me or respond to this post if you are interested, or if you have any questions/comments.

I just really want to apologize for my lack of being around here. RL got crazy with work, a play I was in, and recently I got a concussion that, I am told, I won't heal from for another week. XP

Hey everyone, I'm new here. My name's Ratt, and I've brought this shiny new version of the Doctor for your roleplaying pleasure. I understand there's been a Doctor here before. So here's the brilliant way I sidestepped that: that Doctor was from the end of the 4th season, and I made mine from just a few episodes into the 4th season. So, any previous relations you had with that Doctor aren't null and void, they just haven't happened yet for him. So, I guess he has something to look forward to.

Anyway, I'm open to any and all threads you want to set up. Or want me to set up. Or anything.

1. I'm sorry for being so uber slow on posting. I've had kind of a busy last week or so. Birthdays, reunions, people in the hospital. It's nuts. Believe me.

2. Mini Hiatus: I'll be out of town for the next ten or so days in Vegas. (If anyone wants a souvenier, let me know.) I'll have my laptop, but I don't know if I'll have internet access. I'll try to post if I get a chance, though. And I'm going to try to catch up before I go.

3. I'm going back to school on the 25th of this month. I'm afraid this is going to severely cut back on my RP tiems. It may also make me slower. I'm taking classes in the morning which will make me work later on some days, so I won't have the time at night to reply like I usually do. I'm not going anywhere, I'll just be slower. (As if that's possible, right?)

4. I'm going to be dropping a few characters. Cathal, Robin, Xena & probably Pandora (I can't decide). I know I have open threads with them, so I'll finish before I pull them, but I won't be starting any new threads for them. I'll definitely still have Brennan, Olive and Giselle around, though.

I'm really really sorry. I love you all dearly. Hopefully once I'm back from Vegas I'll be a little more on par. Thanks for understanding!

While I normally try my best not to pick up a character only to drop, I think it might be best if I do so with Wash. He's not as active as my other two and I really think it'd be best if I let him go the way of the Dinosaurs. I'll still be playing Sarah and Amalthea, but for now I think I'd be best letting my Wash muse get some rest. Maybe he'll be back, who knows! <3

Okay, the Halloween thread is open! A couple of people have asked questions, which I'm going to address here in case other people were unclear.

1) Does my character pick their own costume? They can! If they don't, though, Jareth will pick something for them. Costumes are not optional.

2) Do I have to participate in the open thread? While attendance is mandatory, if you absolutely don't want to post in the open thread, you don't have to. But it will be good activity, so why not tag in?

3) How does this work? Your character walks into the ball and becomes their costume. For example, if they're dressed as a, I dunno, cat, they actually become a cat. So keep this in mind when you're picking your costume!

4) Will people recognize each other even in costume? No, people will not, unless it would make sense for the costume that they're wearing. For example, if two people dressed as, say, Clark Kent and Lois Lane, then they would recognize each other.

5) Will the characters remember how they behaved at the ball on next day change, when they are back to normal? Yes. Yes they will.

Day Seventeen Today Is: Day 17 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: A drastic change for the better weather wise today. Warm, sunny, and pleasant, with little fluffy white clouds in the sky. A light, pleasant breeze keeps things cool enough to be comfortable. Highs of 65 degrees (18 Celsius), lows of 59 (15 Celsius) in the evening. At night, a bright, silvery full moon lights up the sky. Announcements: Well, apparently today is Halloween. Everyone will wake up to an 'invitation' to a costume ball in the evening, attendance is not optional, and neither are costumes. If you won't choose a costume for yourself, Jareth will choose one for you, and you probably won't like what he chooses. Black and orange streamers, paper skeletons, jack o lanterns, and there will be goblins handing out candy throughout the day. Enjoy the festivities! Howdy, all! Kierah here, just joined, and will be playing Elphaba Thropp, aka the Wicked Witch of the West! She kuh-raaazy! >:D She's from the book Wicked by Gregory Maguire and there is currently a musical on Broadway of the same name about her, although in the musical she's much nicer and significantly less loony than how I'm playing her.

She's open for plottage and fun in any way shape or form, but you might want to be careful how you act around her, since I pulled her out of a part of her story where she's more insane than usual and suffering from paranoid delusions. :3 Hopefully a little while of calmness and no little girls who stole her sister's shoes will make her sane again.

I'll be getting to tags when I get back from work. The plan was to do them when I woke up today but I just got called in to cover :/ So I'll have to do them later.

I'm pretty sure I'm caught up with all of Alex's tags and just have to do River's with Faith and Shiloh's with Der Tod and Rudolf.

Okey dokey, so here's the deal. I got some really amazing suggestions from you lovely people about the game, and everyone who posted seemed interested in keeping it open, so I'll just summarize here.

-More advertising

-Some sort of major plot event

-It was pointed out that it's the summer and people are on vacation/just don't feel like being inside in such gorgeous weather.

-Oh, look, more suggestions about advertising!

-Keeping the Incomplete Threads list up to date

-Some sort of group thread

I'm noticing a bit of a trend around the advertising, so I'll get on that. In fact, I think I'll do that after I put this up. Also, a group log and major plot event could go really well, I think. So here's the deal. Day sixteen will be another two week day, which means no day change this Sunday, but the one after. Pretty, pretty please, focus on getting old threads complete. Day Seventeen will be Halloween. Has everybody seen that Buffy episode where they all turn into their Halloween costumes? Well, start thinking about what you want your characters to dress up as/turn in to. This will be done in the format of a group thread, since Jareth thinks that it's been far too long since there's been a ball. So, Halloween ball, mandatory attendance, with people turning into their costumes. Questions? Comments? Post here!

I wanted to just toss this up to let everyone know I am considering what was said, and I will come to some decisions about the direction that the game is going to go fairly soon. Day Sixteen Today Is: Day 16 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: For once, the weather is somewhat consistent. It is still grey, dull, and overcast, with the occasional shower that never quite seems to break into outright rain. Chilly breezes through the entire day. Highs of 60 degrees (16 C) and lows of 50 (10 C) in the evening. Again, not a very pleasant day. Announcements: Nothing particular to report. The only really notable thing is that the city didn't change, and remains with the Planetarium/Science center/Aquarium look. Enjoy it! Who knows when things will change again? iHola mis amigos! I apologize for being a bit scarce lately. RL has been rough. But I quit one of my two jobs so it should get easier (though there was also losing my lisence and a skunk involved. Not fun just sayin'.) However I'm going to be scarce just a little bit more this weekend since I'm going out of state to visit family. Just dropping a note to say I'm back and coming off of hiatus (finally!). Ireland and the UK were amazing, the weather was gorgeous the whole trip. I'm looking forward to playing with everyone now that I'm back. Rudolf is especially looking forward to meeting new people and visiting with his friends now that I'm letting him out of his room again.^^

So, I am soliciting threads. Anyone want to play with an idealistic, gentlemanly, naive young man? Playing nice or messing with his mind are both allowed.

Day Fifteen Today Is: Day 15 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: It's an overcast, dreary sort of day, with rain threatening but never actually falling. A thick, low hanging bank of clouds nearly blocks out the sun, making things sort of chilly, and everything is just sort of dim and unpleasant. Highs of 57 (13 C) and lows of 50 (10 C). All in all, this is the sort of day that it might be better to spend inside. Announcements: Another day, another look for the City of Illusions! Once more, the tents of the ren faire have melted away overnight, to be replaced by a completely new look. For the most part, the area is covered in boring, unremarkable lawns, with three distinctly different buildings. The first is a completely spherical building, and within is a science center. (Google Science World if you have no idea what I'm talking about). The second is a planetarium, which has parts on the roof open to observe the sky, though in this cloud cover, it's doubtful how much fun that's going to be. The third is an aquarium, with aquatic animals from all places and times, not only earth. Apparently, it's time for everyone to start learning, so get to it! Okay, so here's the deal. I'm about to go off and do removals and day change and stuff, and I realized just how many people I'd be removing. I thought this would be a good time to let you guys let me know what you think about the game in general. Is it something anyone's even interested in anymore? Don't get me wrong, this isn't me wanting to close the game or anything. As long as there's even a few people who still want to play, I will be keeping this place open. But, at the same time, if life/lack of interest has taken its toll, I'd like to know.

So, this is where I open up the floor to comments/suggestions. Uh, for privacy and so that you can all feel free to speak your mind, I'm screening comments. So, go nuts! I seriously want to hear all of your viewpoints on this.

Okay, guys, so, here's the deal. I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'm going to need to drop Kaylee. Her voice just isn't loud at all for me right now, not the way it should be, and I'd hate to hold up such an awesome character for someone else.

On another note, plottage for my other characters would be awesome. Jen, I believe Luna's going through the Labyrinth with Marcus and Tonks next day change, and the same with Armand and Schuldig? So something for Day 14 would be great. And anyone who wants munchies from Claudia can have them, as always. <3

Also, I have had family stuff (new nephew, holiday and mother in town) going on the last little while and I have been slow with my posts. I should catch up on them today or tomorrow. I apologize!

Because of the number of old threads that need to be completed, Day 14 will be a two week day. Which I just realized should make no sense at all, but y'all know what I mean. So no day change today, and not until next Sunday.

Hi everyone! It's that time again...activity check! It was a pretty full one, so listen up. Everyone got out of May sweeps due to various reasons beyond most people's control, so I had to crack down on this one.

As a reminder, the basic rule of activity here at Labyrinth is one post per character every two weeks. If a player has more than one character, each character is only required to post once per month, but every character must be active. This post can either be an RP thread or a first person journal entry so long as the entry is more than a line or two.

It's 1AM EST (GST -5) on Saturday, July 5th. If you're on this list, you have until 1AM EST Friday, July 10th to post to the RP community or a personal journal entry for your character or you'll risk being swept over the weekend.

Day Fourteen Today Is: Day 14 City of Illusions Ren Faire Arrivals: None Weather: Who needs consistency? Once more, everything has changed. The sun is shining brightly and there's not a cloud in the clear blue sky. There's a brisk wind, enough to keep things comfortable, but not enough to actually chill things down too much. Highs of 68 degrees (20 C) with lows dipping down to 58 (14 C) in the evening. A particularly lovely, late spring day, get out and enjoy it! Announcements: Again, the entire city has changed, for the third time in as many days. The outdoor laser tag arena has given way to the tents, jousting, and dancing that many may remember from the first days of this place. Get ready for ye olde medieval fun and games, complete with goblins in period clothing, dancers, fencers, music and food tents, you name it, if it is at a ren faire, it's here.
