Day 17 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: A drastic change for the better weather wise today. Warm, sunny, and pleasant, with little fluffy white clouds in the sky. A light, pleasant breeze keeps things cool enough to be comfortable. Highs of 65 degrees (18 Celsius), lows of 59 (15 Celsius) in the evening. At night, a bright, silvery full moon lights up the sky. Announcements: Well, apparently today is Halloween. Everyone will wake up to an 'invitation' to a costume ball in the evening, attendance is not optional, and neither are costumes. If you won't choose a costume for yourself, Jareth will choose one for you, and you probably won't like what he chooses. Black and orange streamers, paper skeletons, jack o lanterns, and there will be goblins handing out candy throughout the day. Enjoy the festivities! Day 16 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: For once, the weather is somewhat consistent. It is still grey, dull, and overcast, with the occasional shower that never quite seems to break into outright rain. Chilly breezes through the entire day. Highs of 60 degrees (16 C) and lows of 50 (10 C) in the evening. Again, not a very pleasant day. Announcements: Nothing particular to report. The only really notable thing is that the city didn't change, and remains with the Planetarium/Science center/Aquarium look. Enjoy it! Who knows when things will change again? Day 15 City of Illusions Educational Arrivals: None Weather: It's an overcast, dreary sort of day, with rain threatening but never actually falling. A thick, low hanging bank of clouds nearly blocks out the sun, making things sort of chilly, and everything is just sort of dim and unpleasant. Highs of 57 (13 C) and lows of 50 (10 C). All in all, this is the sort of day that it might be better to spend inside. Announcements: Another day, another look for the City of Illusions! Once more, the tents of the ren faire have melted away overnight, to be replaced by a completely new look. For the most part, the area is covered in boring, unremarkable lawns, with three distinctly different buildings. The first is a completely spherical building, and within is a science center. (Google Science World if you have no idea what I'm talking about). The second is a planetarium, which has parts on the roof open to observe the sky, though in this cloud cover, it's doubtful how much fun that's going to be. The third is an aquarium, with aquatic animals from all places and times, not only earth. Apparently, it's time for everyone to start learning, so get to it! Day 14 City of Illusions Ren Faire Arrivals: None Weather: Who needs consistency? Once more, everything has changed. The sun is shining brightly and there's not a cloud in the clear blue sky. There's a brisk wind, enough to keep things comfortable, but not enough to actually chill things down too much. Highs of 68 degrees (20 C) with lows dipping down to 58 (14 C) in the evening. A particularly lovely, late spring day, get out and enjoy it! Announcements: Again, the entire city has changed, for the third time in as many days. The outdoor laser tag arena has given way to the tents, jousting, and dancing that many may remember from the first days of this place. Get ready for ye olde medieval fun and games, complete with goblins in period clothing, dancers, fencers, music and food tents, you name it, if it is at a ren faire, it's here. Day 13 City of Illusions Laser Tag Arrivals: None Weather: Once more, the weather has done a drastic shift. From bright and sunny yesterday, the clouds have rolled in overnight. Overcast, chilly, and slightly drizzly, the high temperature is only about 59 degrees (15 C), dipping down to around 48 degrees (9 C) in the late evening. Periods of drizzle, followed by light rain, and yes, it is different. Light gusts of wind only cool things off more. It is not a pleasant day, at all. Announcements: Wait, isn't it too soon for this? But, once more, the grounds have drastically changed overnight. All the board games are gone, to be replaced by a giant, outdoor laser tag arena. Little nooks and crannies are everywhere, including a few highly sought after sniper positions. The laser tag area takes up the entire City of Illusions, so that as soon as you step outside your door, you're playing. No vests are required, as a hit anywhere on the body is automatically recorded. Laser guns are handed out by bored looking Goblins scattered through the area. You may find your score from one of those Goblins at any time, and if you're talking to one, you're not considered a target. Hits against you won't count. Enjoy! Day 12 City of Illusions Board Games Arrivals: Anastasia 'Anya' Romanov James Tiberius Kirk (Pending) Leonard 'Bones' McCoy (Pending) Weather: From Spring to Summer... the weather here is as unpredictable as everything else. Highs of 90 degrees (32 C), dipping down to 70 degrees (21 C) In the evening. No wind at all, not a cloud in the clear blue sky. Watch out for dehydration! Announcements: The amusement part has completely disappeared overnight. Instead, every square inch of the City of Illusions is covered in enormous board games. Chess, Snakes and Ladders, Monopoly, Checkers, you name it, it's there. All the buildings have turned into chocolate, like in Candyland, and game pieces the size of people litter the ground. Day 10 City of Illusions Amusement Park Arrivals: Adam Hauptman Grimmjow Jeagerjaques Pavel Chekov Weather: More cold, more snow, more clouds. Highs of 30 degrees (-1 Celsius), dipping down to lows of 25 degrees (-4 Celsius) late in the evening. Clouds breaking somewhat in the late evening, so the night is very clear and very cold. Announcements: It's odd, really, but it seems like there are less people around. It's unclear how or why, but maybe Jareth simply got bored with them and sent them away. Day 9 City of Illusions Amusement Park Arrivals: Amalthea/Unicorn Der Tod Rudolf Habsburg Weather: The cold continues. Another couple of inches of snow have fallen, and the sky is still clouded over, looking like more could fall at any time. Highs of 32 degrees (0 celsius) dipping down to 28 (-2 celsius) in the evening. Fairly windy at times. Announcements: The second day of 'Christmas', apparently! New arrivals will all find stockings in their rooms, and the decorations and such remain up. The rides are still operating, though, and the amusement park is still open. Day 8 City of Illusions Amusement Park Arrivals: Kathryn Janeway (Pending) Weather: Well, this was unexpected! Just before sunrise, the temperature dropped drastically, too quickly to be natural. Soon after, big, fluffy flakes of snow started falling. Further snowfall amounts accumulating throughout the day, stopping at about 12 inches deep. Highs of 30 degrees (-1 Celsius) dipping down to lows of 26 (-3 Celsius). Announcements: Snow? Well, that's random. But, despite the change in weather, the amusement park remains open. Go on and enjoy the rides! The concession stands have started offering hot chocolate and roasted chestnuts, and for some reason, the goblins and other staff that are around are wearing bright red Santa hats. Wreaths, tinsel, Menorah and other decorations are everywhere. Throughout the day and night, goblins will be delivering stockings, which are personalized with little gifts that would most suit your character. This is obviously a very strange, very random place. Day 7 City of Illusions Amusement Park Arrivals: Torin Kerr Weather: Light rain in the morning, with the clouds breaking about noon. For the rest of the day, chilly but sunny with very few clouds. Windy at times. Highs of 53 degrees (12 Celsius) and lows of 50 degrees (10 celsius) going into the evening. Announcements: Everything has changed today. The tents have faded away, to be replaced by concession stands, all sorts of rides, a petting zoo, and games of skill that are mostly rigged. Day 6 City of Illusions Ren Faire Arrivals: Buffy Summers Eragon Bromsson Hoban Washburne Simon Tam Weather: As if in response to yesterday's heat, today it is cold and absolutely pouring rain. Low-hanging grey clouds cast a shadow over everything, and it's harder to see than normal with all the mist and water condensation. Highs of 59 degrees (15 Celcius) and lows of 55 degrees (13 Celcius) into the evening. Rain all day, and heavy 90% of the time. Announcements: Everything is started to look a little... faded. Day 4 City of Illusions Ren Faire Arrivals: Bart Allen Caspian Claudia Edward Cullen Juniper Golding Pandora Weather: Clouds have rolled in, and light drizzle will form about midday. However, as a result of this, things have warmed up considerably from yesterday. Highs throughout the day of around 70, with lows of 68 in the evening. Rain clearing to patchy clouds and then a clear night. Announcements: The Labyrinth has completely disappeared, leaving the way to the Goblin City absolutely unblocked. Today is the day of the big ball! Outfits will, of course, be provided, but if you do not arrive in proper attire, you will be dressed. Eat, drink, dance, and generally make merry. If you do not come voluntarily, you will be fetched, so you may as well make it easy on yourself. Remember, full costumes, including masks, are not optional. Not a cloud is in the sky, though it is quite cold. Highs of around 58 degrees, dipping down to lows of 55 in the evening. It reads as follows: Dear (Insert name here), It is my honor to invite you to a ball I am having to celebrate everyone's arrival to the Underground. There is not a cloud in the beautiful blue sky. The high temperature today will be 77 degrees, with a dip in the evening down to 73. Announcements: Feel free to explore your new home! There will be a jousting tournament in the early afternoon, as well as classes in medieval cookery throughout the day.
