|After dropping Marigold off for the egg hunt, Leah returned to the apartment.|
Marigold hadn't asked many questions about why colored eggs were being hidden around the place, which was both good and bad. Leah had very little interest in the religious holidays, aside from Christmas, although she only celebrated that in terms of spending time with her family. Marigold wasn't old enough yet to be able to decide which religion to follow, and Leah wasn't planning to push her into deciding. A large part of her was reluctant to let her participate in an activity everyone was celebrating as Christianity's Easter, but she wasn't going to make her daughter feel left out because of her own spiritual beliefs.
She brought the box of things she'd made for the nursery into the room with her, offering a smile to Evan. She was in a good mood, pleased that today was finally the day they'd finish setting everything up.
“Are you nervous at all?” It was a random question, she knew, but she'd wondered throughout the months. Evan seemed so put-together about all that was happening, about the idea of being a dad. Apart from the stress she'd put him through at the beginning of this, he didn't seem nervous at all.
